hip deep in pie

So yeah, I don't use it in wind.

It's never not breezy here (thank you, North Atlantic), so I just try to avoid clouds and keep the cats in when I'm scattering it.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME OTHERWISE.

Why would we? That's exactly how it does work.

Now I'm envisioning the little fossilized diatoms coming to life and wielding tiny swords and killing the ants that way.

They are wee tiny swords!

It is even better than that, because they are tiny fossil zombie vampire diatoms that suck the very life out of any ants with whom they come into contact.

I love you all for being my enablers!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

There are no swords, but possibly a tiny cement mixer truck. I keep wanting to redo the bathroom so I can order "cementitious board". And then I can strew diatomatious earth around.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm having flashbacks of an old roommate who spilled kool-aid all over the counter next to the back door and dealt with the problem by throwing a towel on top of it. I came home later and picked up the towel. Big mistake.

Tuesday, my left shoulder ached. I figured I slept funny. Today, it was the right shoulder, same place. I don't sleep on that side. Deep ache, right at the top of the joint, distracting and ibu doesn't touch it. Wondering if I basically overcompensated the right when the left hurt.

I will not countenance swimming being the cause. Damnit.

I love the visual of zombie diatoms!

I'm on a zombie kick. For the last essay assignment for my AP kids, I'm assigning them this:

Synthesizing at least three sources, write an essay in which you discuss the issues which should be most important to consider when making decisions about surviving the coming zombie apocalypse.

And I even have sources for them!

sara, I swam another mile today -- 39 minutes, but cheating with force fins.... but man, force fins get my heartrate up.

I am hellaciously tired. I hope Grace is asleep soon because I'm going to bed.

I can't do fins (they freak me out) but I'm contemplating hand fin things. Cause if I keep my fingers tight, it aggravates the tendons.

Good job! I seem to be slowing lately, and I can't figure out why. Maybe my rhythm is off.
