Scrappy, DVT is scary - so glad you caught it quickly!
Ken Burns is doing a film on Prohibition -looks like fun.
Also, the Minnesota Rep who insulted Neil Gaiman and accused him of stealing from the electorate was forced to apologize by his mother.
Eeps Scrappy! I'm so glad J's DVT was caught and treated but YEEPS! Sending good vibes to your household.
Thanks everyone for your warm thoughts and warm words. It means so much.
And I posted this in Bitches too, but I'll say it here as well: Happy mother's day everybody! I know the day is set aside for "mothers" but I always think it should be set aside to honor "mothering"--all the people who care for others, be it their children, their pets, other people's children and pets, friends and family, the ill and the convalescent.
No power. Which means no coffee or hot water. Thank goodness fo iPhone otherwise there would be no internet
Scrappy, yikes! So glad it was found!
D and I text mostly "Pls pick up litter" messages, but when he or I are away, it's all very much, "I miss you, the house feels weird without you. Love you."
Our endearments are pretty standard: I call him honey, baby or sweetie, and he calls me darlin'.
I WILL cop to have called him "my darling geekboy" in conversations with girlfriends.
Our text messages are a mix of practical, silly flirty stuff, pictures of food and the cat.
Kenny must be agenius, he is too young to graduate
I'm glad your dh was diagnosed quickly, scrappy
We've finally converted the spare room into a storage room/room for me. I've got a bookcase to put *my* books in, and a big desk for *my* stuff. Bliss bliss bliss. Unfortunately I took Hubby's word for it that the network cable would reach back there. It doesn't. So I have my books, my computer, my papers--but no Internet! I've got the net here at work, I could use Hubby's laptop, but dammit I'm a spoiled 21st century woman, I want the Net in the room I want it in, when I want it!
Alternately, I need to find that two-drawer filing cabinet that got shifted somewhere, because it's got 30 years of genealogical research and ten years of fic. That I am not so sanguine about.
Scrappy, I'm so glad the problem was found and is being attended to. Sometimes our luck runs really really good. Hugs to both of you.
Happy Mothers' Day--and what Burrell said.
