Scrappy, yikes! So glad it was found!
D and I text mostly "Pls pick up litter" messages, but when he or I are away, it's all very much, "I miss you, the house feels weird without you. Love you."
Our endearments are pretty standard: I call him honey, baby or sweetie, and he calls me darlin'.
I WILL cop to have called him "my darling geekboy" in conversations with girlfriends.
Our text messages are a mix of practical, silly flirty stuff, pictures of food and the cat.
Kenny must be agenius, he is too young to graduate
I'm glad your dh was diagnosed quickly, scrappy
We've finally converted the spare room into a storage room/room for me. I've got a bookcase to put *my* books in, and a big desk for *my* stuff. Bliss bliss bliss. Unfortunately I took Hubby's word for it that the network cable would reach back there. It doesn't. So I have my books, my computer, my papers--but no Internet! I've got the net here at work, I could use Hubby's laptop, but dammit I'm a spoiled 21st century woman, I want the Net in the room I want it in, when I want it!
Alternately, I need to find that two-drawer filing cabinet that got shifted somewhere, because it's got 30 years of genealogical research and ten years of fic. That I am not so sanguine about.
Scrappy, I'm so glad the problem was found and is being attended to. Sometimes our luck runs really really good. Hugs to both of you.
Happy Mothers' Day--and what Burrell said.
Happy Mothers' Day, Buffistas!
Happy mother's day, Buffista mothers (and mother-type people)!
I went out to see my BIL play funk saxaphone last night--it was very fun. The band had 11 people (5 horns!), and three dancing girls in 60s-era outfits, and they did stuff like "Car Wash" and "You Can Leave Your Hat On", with a screen behind the stage showing clips from "Shaft" and "Action Jackson". I was underdressed, as I don't have fake eyelashes, an afro wig, hot pants of any type, or platform glitter go-go boots.
But everyone had fun, and the band (mostly middle-aged white bureaucrats) clearly had a wonderful time.
And I got home at 1:30 and went right to bed. And then I ran this morning in the woods and got passed by dozens of ultramarathoners, who were all much faster than I was. Heh.
Happy mothers' day to all Buffistas, mothers or not!!
My cat is still zonked out in the recliner, so she's not bugging me to move up her dinnertime. Maybe she'll ignore it until it's relatively close to a reasonable person's idea of "dinnertime," but I doubt it.
Connie, can you get a wireless card for your desktop, and use that to access the Internet in your closet? (wireless N cards are cheap these days. If by chance you don't have a wireless N router, they are cheap too.)
