I don't think I would like the sensation of having my toes all separated. My preferred sandals this summer were [link] The closest to a flip flop I can get without having to hold them on with my toes or hear the slapping sound. It's my favorite style of sandal.
I think the Vibram thingies are odd looking, but in a way that makes me smile a little. Like, "Hee! Toes!"
Not for the red carpet, though, Danny. Unless you had a doctor's note.
I tried on the Vibrams once. It was interesting. I could get used to it, but find them a bit weird (and possibly painful) for walking around the city--rocks! glass! curbs! I would stub all my foot.
Of course, at the moment, I am wearing slipper-like shoes that are fuzzy on the inside and barely have any structure. But it's COLD in my house today.
I love toe socks, but I find the Vibram hobbit cosplay shoes freaky. Plus, not appropriate for a public function when worn with a suit!
Pete just took me off active clean-up duty. Things I Have Yet To Really Learn About My Collection Of Illnesses: No, I can't Do All The Things, and when my reserves run out, trying to run on willpower doesn't work and just leads to crying meltdowns.

I would not wear VFFs, but I just bought two pair of injinji toe socks yesterday.
My toes have ~12 blisters on them. That is not an exaggeration. They are gross.
Bon do you use blister bandages? Those have been very helpful to me in the past.
I cannot have this post-lunch coma. I do not have time for it.
Nothing sticks for me during long runs. Too much friction, plus the sweat...
Jilli, be nice to my friend Jilli!
I don't want dudes to get to wear hobbit shoes on the red carpet, because 99.9% of women there are stuck wearing heels. So suck it up, boys, and wear the antiquated mitten shoes. Tell the starlet next to you that they pinch, see how quickly she whips off her Manolo and beats your head in.
Wow, that came out more forcefully than I had planned.
Jilli, be nice to my friend Jilli!
Between you and Pete ganging up on me, I don't have much of a choice, do I? But we decided that the kittens are going to be released tomorrow. That way we will be able to finish stuff without driving ourselves mad, and I won't be in the throes of a meltdown due to exhaustion and pain. Plus the 13th is always a good day for me, so introducing Vlad & Erzabet to the house tomorrow is a good plan.
Tell the starlet next to you that they pinch, see how quickly she whips off her Manolo and beats your head in.
WORD.
Remind me to stop arguing with stupid people on the internet. Bah.
