Yay!
Goodbye and Good Riddance 2010: Don't Let the Door Hit Ya...
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2010? We have a few words for you.
Secret Santa o' mine, your package arrived! I was going to open them a few a day... But then I couldn't stop. Oopsies.
So! In no particular order, except I did follow the instructions for first and last... Ginger cookies! Still soft. Nom. And then... a Tardis cellphone charm! I actually made squeaky noises at that one. Then there was an array of bacon-flavored products - popcorn, salt, and drink tabs. Yes, drink tabs. I think I just discovered a shortcut to bacon-infused bourbon. Score.
My embarassment of Christmas riches also included a titanium spork (I WILL BROWNBAG LIKE A BADASS), a wee jar of fudge sauce (never know when you're going to need a bit of emergency chocolate), and a Kinder Happy Hippo.
Hang on... Gotta eat another cookie. SPICY NOMS YAYES.
Oh! Forgot the card. Soy ink on recycled paper, AND there's a detachable bookmark.
Okay. And for the dramatic finale, I opened a lovingly packaged sequence of wrappings to reveal a gorgeous ornament, hand-beaded I presume?
Which makes me think... Suzi? Unless my tricky Santa had her make it, in which case I am stumped.
Dude. I can't decide what to make taste like bacon first.

heh hehe hehe hhehe
I got one too!
Twas me, smonster. I know there was a plethora of bacon related items, but I just couldn't stop. The drink tabs were so out there, how could I resist?
Just made another double batch of ginger cookies (and peanut butter kisses and peppermint swirls). The gingers are my fav.
Suzi's ginger cookies are Teh Awesome, it's true.
Yay, thank you, Suzi! I will report back on the baconness of each item. I'm trying to decide if I have room for popcorn.
Yes! And her peanut butter kisses (she tempted me to the Dark Side, for, lo, I care not for that combo at all) are absolutely perfection.
I didn't get out any decorations this year, so the ornament is lending a bit of welcome spirit to my entertainment center. It's so beautiful.
I have been Santaed! I went to the mailroom to find some packages I was execting and there was an extra! And inside was a nice fuzzy blankie with cats and dogs. And a lovely homemade bag with a loveier story behind it, and all the makings of an emergency overnight kit. The good kind of emergency kit, with green/gold sparkly nail polish and lotion and all kinds of nice stuff. And some nifty butterfly thingies for the wall, which is great timing since I'm about to start tackling redoing the dog's room.
[Yes, I just called it the dog's room. Stop rolling your eyes. It could also be called the guest room, or the spare room, or the book room (it doesn't quite qualify as the library). But it also happens to be where the dog set up shop when she moved in. So.]
I'm pretty sure I figured out my Santa from the UPS drop off location. But then, she figured me out last year just from the word "fragile" on the side of the box.
