You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Oh, and since billytea's antennae shot up when I mentioned Naked Mole Rats, I should note that today is Platypus Day on the Disney Channel. Happy Platypus Day, billytea!

OH HAI THIS IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS

I got to explain where the platypus' name (and scientific name) came from in a work meeting on Friday. Lead-in: I do work on the distribution of asset returns. Traditionally, returns were modelled statistically as if they came from a normal distribution (the standard bell curve). However, in practice returns aren't so well behaved. In particular, extreme results - big gains and losses - occur more commonly than the bell curve makes out, so the real distribution gets fatter tails out each side. The term for this statistical property is kurtosis; distributions with fat tails are called leptokurtic, but those with flat tails are called platykurtic. And there's the lead-in to discuss the platypus, and you may believe that I took it.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I took myself out to dinner and had some fantastic gnocci. NOM!!!

sara, T is lucky to have you. And meeting the parents is both hard and crucially important. In my experience, once the meeting has happened, things are easier...but getting there can be interesting.

I remember discovering K-Bug's first hickey. We were at a softball tournament and she had her hair in a high pony tail...I wouldn't have seen it if her hair was down. I think she was more embarrassed than anything.

Oh, oh - went to my hair dresser and I am now a red head. Dark red, but red. Wheeeee.

I have to admit, I'm a bit aghast at being a teen's sounding board and voice of reason. I don't like teens, in general. But mine? I extend. And really, me giving relationship advice is somewhat comical. I actually told T your parents know I'm single at 35 and selfs-supporting,you KNOW they are just praying you never have sex until then!

She laughed.

I'm kinmda drunk, t=which is awesome, since I almost never drink anymore. FUN was had, and I hadn't seen anyone since the middle of January, and everyone commented on how nuch weight I've lost, which was nice!

I'lost bout 12 pounds from being crazy-busy and not eating, and it was nice to hear it shows. Ok, that is all, I think I will look at gardening sites. I already have the name of a guy to mow the lawm, and I am going to plnat this year. I already bough three big packets of wildflower mixes for by the front fence and the side of the house.

I have a cat in my lap. It is not, I don't think, drunk. But I am. I had a chocolate and bacon cupcake, which was fine. And some smoked BBQ ribs which were fanfuckingtastic.

Dude, I'm back from drinking a trough of margaritas and then bowling -- first really well (for me; I bowled a 98, which is good considering that the last time I bowled was maybe 2 years ago), and then not so well (second game I bowled a 69, but I consoled myself by declaring that no one could bowl that score if they set out to do so). PLUS I got a double Beam & Coke at the bowling alley bar for $4.85. Can't beat that. But I am HAMMERED.

I have proofread this post several times due to booze and hammeredness. It seems passable.

I tried to proofread, but it is hard, and some of the typos seemed pretty finny, so I lef them in., and I think I will go to bed soon.

I'm trying to stay up long enough to metabolize some of the booze, so as to minimize any headache/hangover tomorrow. Woo, those margaritas looked so innocent.

Prosecco. A whole bottle, when I am pretty much a teetotaller. With the raspberries, it went down like delicious water.

Okay, I did my wifely duty and tried to get Dan off the couch where he was watching cartoons and feel asleep. He says he will be up "in a few minutes." I say "Bullshit, buddy, don't tell me if your back hurts tomorrow, cause I tried twce to haul your sleepy ass to bed!" So THERE! Ha.

I had fun tonight, though. It was so nice to be out with friends.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just got back from seeing Juliana's play with JZ. It was awesome, especially Juliana, and it was great to see JZ.
