"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Car troubles always suck, sarameg, even when you have the resources to deal with them.

Also jumping on the oatmeal train.

I love oatmeal, but I'm like Tep and like the whole, rolled oats. In fact, I cook it with less water so it's more oat-y an textured.

And by the time I've put in butter and maple syrup I might as well be eating pancakes, I guess. But heart healthy pancakes.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I like oatmeal. But I am, in fact, eating pancakes this morning. Admittedly, they're whole wheat pancakes, but still.

Man. I keep clicking and not posting. One of the things wrong with this laptop is the left click button.

Now all I have to do is learn the other half of obsessing about buying things, which is, not to keep obsessively checking the deals after I've made my purchase. The only thing that can come from that is woe.

Compassionately intolerant

Fast, Cheap and Out of Control which has Naked Fuckin' Mole Rats and robots, lion tamers and topiary.

Weeeeellll. Is that cooler than From a Whisper to a Scream: A living history of Irish music , which is really, really cool.

But, yeah. Naked Mole Rats are pretty cool.

My new project: a documentary about a Naked Mole Rat Irish folk band. Done entirely in robotic topiary and narrated by Martin Scorsese.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

In fact, I cook it with less water so it's more oat-y an textured.

I use the full amount of water, but cook it a little longer so the end result is thicker. I like it to be able to hold up a spoon.

Porridge in general I have with a little butter and salt, sometimes cream instead, sometimes plain, very rarely with something sweet.

Something for the Good Things tumbler? Yankees put aside rivalry to help Red Sox coach and family.

As far as I know, nutritionally there is very little difference between steel cut and rolled oats. Some trace minerals and such lost in the processing, but both are whole grains with the same amount of fiber and protein. You should happily eat the one you prefer.

And real maple syrup has fewer calories and more minerals than honey.

Finally, fat is not the enemy.
