The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I have had my morning oatmeal, some cottage cheese, and my trusty fish oil capsules. In the interest of complete transparency, I also had a handful of Girl Scout cookies. The new Shout Outs are num. They have a nice, buttery-spice flavor to them.

In other news, I have sorted through most of my crafting stash this morning. Oy. I may never need to go yarn shopping again.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

A personal journey through American movies with Martin Scorcese.

I do want to see that.

But is it cooler than...

Fast, Cheap and Out of Control which has Naked Fuckin' Mole Rats and robots, lion tamers and topiary.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Actually, what we're watching this morning is a Phineas and Ferb marathon. (And it's a contender for Coolest Current Kid's Cartoon.)

I'm trying to master Perry the Platypus's chitter. I think I've almost got it down. You've got to roll a "duggaduggadugga" sound in the back of your mouth and chatter your teeth at the same time.

Well, THIS weekend is shaping up GRRREAT!

Backing out at Target, my clutch goes POP, pedal to the floor and it is permanently disengaged (ie, like not having a clutch pedal!) Presume arm/cable/whatever snapped. Got a tow home (love AAA.) Neighbor is taking me back to TJs in an hour or so.

I'll probably tow it in to the mechanics' tomorrow (they are closed weekends, so no rush) and have someone pick me up and bring me home.

I can either telecommute monday or get a ride in with my coworker/neighbors.

Kinda fucks up the whole-take-Taylor-out-to-dinner-and-home thing, though.

I really didn't need this. Yes, the car needs a tune up and yes, I've been putting it off, but that wouldn't have forestalled this.

Funny thing is, this is the second time this has happened to me, so I knew immediately what happened. Other time was in high school, Taylor Road, I remember it well.

I really should carry my cell. But the Target people were nice. As was the tow. And really, my circumstances for dealing with this are pretty much ideal.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Car troubles always suck, sarameg, even when you have the resources to deal with them.

Also jumping on the oatmeal train.

I love oatmeal, but I'm like Tep and like the whole, rolled oats. In fact, I cook it with less water so it's more oat-y an textured.

And by the time I've put in butter and maple syrup I might as well be eating pancakes, I guess. But heart healthy pancakes.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I like oatmeal. But I am, in fact, eating pancakes this morning. Admittedly, they're whole wheat pancakes, but still.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Man. I keep clicking and not posting. One of the things wrong with this laptop is the left click button.

Now all I have to do is learn the other half of obsessing about buying things, which is, not to keep obsessively checking the deals after I've made my purchase. The only thing that can come from that is woe.

Compassionately intolerant

Fast, Cheap and Out of Control which has Naked Fuckin' Mole Rats and robots, lion tamers and topiary.

Weeeeellll. Is that cooler than From a Whisper to a Scream: A living history of Irish music , which is really, really cool.

But, yeah. Naked Mole Rats are pretty cool.
