Aw, Oldest Poodle in the World! Go for it, Lulu. And amyth, there's probably not a better place to have a panic attack than in the doctor's office, although during a pap probably isn't ideal. Yay for meds!
My mom was pretty much a heat-up-a-can veggie cook. So it's been interesting to try the raw thing as I've gotten older. There's so much more to taste, for one. And most of it really good.
My maternal grandmother was a cook for various work camps during the Depression and the war, so I don't think the level of cookery was expected to be very high. Though Mother made kick-ass fudge.
Oh, dude on the train, none of us want to listen go you tell your girlfriend about how much sex you want to be having with her, or hear you moan about how you could work off those excess eleven pounds that way.
Ha ha ha! What is
wrong
with people??
so much is wrong with people, it's why I don't like many of them.
I consider myself honest and connable. Seriously, all someone would have to do would be to take advantage of my ignorance or trust. Or would that not be a con anymore?
I don't think the "eat food you like" message is entirely wrongheaded, but I really don't appreciate lines like this:
Maybe you’ve truly never learned to enjoy more than a very few foods, and your palate needs expanding.
and:
If you are like most human beings, you probably seek pleasure and avoid pain, within certain moral constraints — you like to feel good and you dislike feeling bad.
Which all adds up to me as having a creepy undertone of "...and if you still prefer bacon to oatmeal for breakfast, it's because there's something wrong with you."
yeah, I don't feel bad after a sampler platter of fried food and a couple of beers. Maybe the writer does and that keeps her in line wrt eating well.
I think that would be more of a scam than a con, ita, but that's just my gut reaction.

I didn't get that from it. And I do prefer bacon to oatmeal, in general, but I don't want bacon every day, which is what she's saying is okay. I think.
