totally understand the frustration. I'm going out tonight and leaving a bowl of treats (ok, playdogh) on the front porch buz i also dislike being at the beck and call of whoever wanders through the area. I actually agreed with Sue Sylvester's opine of halloween.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
We've been told that we get very few to no trick or treaters on our little cul-de-sac, mostly because it's up a pretty steep hill and there are only six houses. On top of that, they have to climb a decent set of steps to get up to our door.
I wonder if my subconscious wasn't thinking of this when we bought the house. At any rate, I'm going to go hide in my bedroom since my back is making it difficult to get up and down out of my chair.
OTOH, Abby's gone to her best friend's house so the two of them can take her friend's little sister trick or treating. Abby is in costume (cat demon in purple and orange and black with combat boots) while Nate will be accompanying the little boys across the street as their escort. When I asked him what his costume was going to be, he answered, without missing a beat, "Moody teenager."
Nooooo... he's not my kid. Not at all.
I wish we lived closer so I could stop by for a little while.
My kids are off to their respective TorT locations, and I'm here to grade and give out candy, although the candy skews a bit later in our neighborhood, usually 6:30-8 or so. After the candy is gone I figure it's lights out time.
What Laga said.
damnit.
Aww now I feel like a wuss for making a big deal out of a 2 hour round trip. But now we have more people coming over and I'm the only one who will help out in the kitchen so I don't feel like I can sneak out. wah! I have no problem with procrastinating on the computer, though.
Sunday Night Football's going to be fun to watch if only because it's in New Orleans. Needless to say, the Superdome is full of even more colorful characters than usual.
Do they always do that inane credit sequence? Is it always Faith Hill?
Various nieces and nephews are over tonight. I'm up in my room for the peace & quiet.
I just came back from a trip to Altadena's Super King Market where I hoped to find the figs on a string my dad loves. They didn't have them. But they had loads of other interesting groceries. I wish we had one of those in easy biking distance of our house.
I bought some tiramisù for my mom. She said tiramisù doesn't do much for her. I'm going to revoke her Italian card.
Since I had the car and it was in the neighborhood, I visited the Altadena Community Garden as well. I took pictures and talked to one of the gardeners there. I'm trying to gather pictures and information that might sway our city councilpeople when the issue goes to the council.
Dang, Spidra, that's a pretty busy day! I hereby declare that you have earned a night of peace hiding in your room with candy and a book. Anyone knocks? Just hide under the covers. They can't see you there on Halloween.
