"Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam."
Translated:
"I have a catapult. If you don't give me all your money, I will fling an enormous rock at your head."
Now I'm imagining a bank robber passing this note to a teller...
...and then all the bank employees gather round as they try to translate it.
I brought my umbrella with me today - to use as a parasol. . . and it is now broken beyond repair. (At least by me: the skeleton broke!)
I don't know what I did.
Anyway, so I was perusing parasols on Amazon and seeing all the lace ones and I thought: I can knit lace. I wonder if there are any patterns for knitted lace parasols? And of course there are. So I bought the pattern and ordered some yarn and in the meantime I have also purchased a pretty paper parasol to use until I can make my own.
I was inspired to parasol use by the random headache I had last night which I decided was due to standing in the sun waiting for the bus.
...and then all the bank employees gather round as they try to translate it.
Well, sure. You want them to bunch up, after all.
Man people sure do post some inappropriate things.
A friend of mine was murdered in 1985 and today the police are announcing a new development in the case that has been cold for decdes. Her brother has been posting updates on Facebook and after each one, one or two people asks for another update. Others are saying they hope for good news. Today someone said (murder victim) sure was pretty.
I want to reply to these people that this is not a happy time for the dead girl's family. You can get updates by googling her name and clicking 'news'. But I'm afraid of causing unnecessary noise on someone else's facebook.
News conference this afternoon. Maybe things will calm down after we find out what the new developments are.
Sorry if I ran the thread off the rails.
Anyone have exciting lunch plans today?
Lean Cuisine, in all likelihood.
Dieting, she sucks.
Some of those lean cuisines are pretty tasty but I never felt like I was getting enough to eat.
Actually, Laga, I'm totally with you.
Every time something new hits the news about Pan Am 103, I get messages like, 'aren't you pissed?' or 'you must be so relieved.' That last one came from a huge number of people after an execution.
Am I relieved? Uh. No. My beloved is still dead and no, I don't think another death makes up for that.
In lunch news, I made a lovely greens and beans mix last night. I'm looking forward to have that over a bed of quinoa. It ought to taste even better today.
