Gah, I hate my water bill so much. This is how it breaks down:

City of Oakland Sewer Service: $44.48
Wastewater Treatment Charge: $21.96
SF Bay Residential Pollution Prevention: $0.40
Water Service Charge: $20.26
Seismic Improvement Program Surchage: $3.80
Water Usage Charge: $4.00
Total: $94.90

Are all water bills like this, or is EBMUD just ridiculous? Why I am continually paying for sewer service and wastewater treatment? I thought that's what taxes were for.

In some areas that might be part of the property tax but not in California. Prop 13 pretty much assured that.
