Zoe: Uh huh. River, honey? He's putting the hair away now. River: It'll still be there... waiting.

I'm getting the pig!

I bet the jojoba oil would be cheaper than the Deep Cleansing Oil by DHC. Hmmm.

eta - Or not. Oh well. The DHC stuff works great so I'll just stick with that.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I just mean, lots of those tutorials say stuff like put one color on your lid, then a darker color to the crease, then light color on the inside third, or whatnot. But I don't have the crease, so I don't know where I should put the darker color or whatever. But then I came across a few other things that said I shouldn't use that color order anyway. Which makes some sense, because that puts the primary color on the lid, which on me is almost always completely concealed.

I don't really do any of that shit and I'm all creasified and whatnot.

Get a big box (or THE big box) and play a little. This is art, you can do art. Make something pretty.

Roommate Jane was fold-free and as I recall she tended toward this sort of cat-eyed look [link] (though this girl may have a crease... is that a epicanthal fold I see thar? )

brillig

I feel like whole portions of my female genetic code are missing. It's the very rare shoe that makes me go "Oooh, pretty," babies fall into the "it's noisy and makes messes" category--though are occasionally cute, but not as cute as kittens--and the makeup conversations are like listening to talks about chemistry--abstruse subjects where I understand most of the words but miss on the concepts.

I always preferred hanging over the fender while Daddy explained carbeuration anyway.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, that's probably good advice.

And yeah, this is all pretty much new to me, except for that phase in seventh grade.

And in keeping with the makeup/football continuum, it is really raining at the game tonight!

I hear you, Connie. I don't have children and I hate shopping with a passion but I have an interest in make-up out of total necessity. Since I started going grey at 15 or 16, that included the eyebrows and eyelashes. And when you combine very pale skin and very blue eyes with almost invisible eyelashes and eyebrows, if I don't wear make-up, I tend to frighten people. I look like a ghost with big blue orbs.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Me, it's kittens I don't get. I mean, I get that they're cute in theory, but I wouldn't want to actually have one. Pictures will do just fine.

I don't understand the crease concept either. But because of all this convo, I put on lipstick this morning. Which looked weird alone, so I was forced to put in contacts and eyemakeup.

Ooooh! I know this one! I had this exact problem my entire life! Have you tried Urban Decay's 24/7 liner? It Does. Not. Budge. [link] About 30 seconds after you draw it on, it just stays where it is. No more smudge marks on my upper lids. It's BRILLIANT.

it budges on me. Moostly right at first, but....

Because books.

I feel the same way. Especially before I colored my hair (darker), I felt like, without makeup, I just sort of faded away. Lightish hair, light eyes, lightish brows, very fair = invisigirl.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I have to powder the 24/7 (especially Zero), and it still moves on me when I'm working (oily lids + dishwasher steam + sweat = makeup budging), but it's still the best I've tried.

Who's a famous chick with helpfully shaped eyes who looks good to you, Liese?

Would Kim Yu-Na or Mao Asada do the trick? Both have scads of shots because of the Olympics, and always looks sort of fresh and not overdone.
