I blow dry my dry cat. He LIKES it. And helps with his old mancat dandruff. He likes it aimed at his face. I figure, he's probably so deaf, it gives him some ambient noise...

Well, yeah, and it kinda doesn't help that the only makeup instruction I've ever received was Theatre Masks & Makeup class in college, which was an awesome class....you know what I should do is make casts of my face cast and practice on those!

Anyway, it means that I think about makeup in terms of shading and such, which is probably why I got the "it looks so natural" compliment. But it also means I have no idea what to do if I'm not trying to create an effect. Like old age.

Oh, and the other traumatic thing from that class was when we were supposed to find the color that matched our skin tone, and the one that undeniably matched mine was called, "Japanese," intended for yellowface. Eesh.

Yup, it does make a difference. If I am gonna do mascara, I have to do it because otherwise my eyelashes bother the shit out of me.

Okay, you don't have to do that. You can use a hand fan to speed the drying time!

Mmm, sealant. Good for making liquid eyeliner out of powder shadow! Keeps eyeliner from smudging, even through crying at sad movies and other things!

Have you tried Urban Decay's 24/7 liner? It Does. Not. Budge.

If I use pencil liner, this is what I use. But you will pry the MAC LiquidLast liner from my cold, possibly undead, hands.

Yeah, I've never owned a blowdryer. Two days after straightening my hair I had a mild panic attack when I realised I had swim class and would have to handle wet hair first thing in the morning. Thence started my Tina Turner hair phase, and I've pretty much been drying au naturelle my whole life, even when I really really shouldn't have been.

I'm not sure how I dried my hair when I had a Jheri curl, but I'm sure it was something highly lazy, because, you know, still me.

Apropos of nothing, every time I hit the Sephora main page, I keep thinking the guy in the ad for the paco rabanne fragrance is flipping me off. I think he's supposed to be rubbing his fingers together, like, money, because of the whole "luxe for life" tagline, but I swear, he's staring at me and giving me the bird.

Every now and again I'll experiment with eyeshadow colors but usually fall back on a light beige or brown and be done with it. Just enough to maintain the eyelid oils for the early part of the day.

Jilli, have you tried Mary Kay's eye make-up remover? It's oil based and it works on all my liquid liners pretty well. Without me having to rip my eyelids off rubbing.

I was doing this (flapping a fan at my face while not blinking but not having my eyes entirely open either) at my folks house and my Nephlet was very WTF so I explained I was drying my liner. Then I walked to the kitchen and my dad was there. I started to explain and he stopped me cause he knew I was letting makeup dry. My dad is AWESOME.

I haven't. But straight jojoba oil works really well. It just takes a few seconds to dissolve the LiquidLast.
