As you probably can figure I know a lot of women who work in clubs. It's one of the last bastions of hardcore sexual harrassment, and attitudes like that writer's are why.

ita, I hope you don't think I'm angry at you for posting it. I just hate the patriarchy on display in that article and in a lot of clubs.

I didn't get the impression the writer thought all women that worked in clubs went pay for play, or that they thought it was right, but you're probably more sensitive to the text than I am.

I have residual Brenda issues... I'm not proud.

Ha. Okay, I feel a little less bad. They need to revamp themselves the way Brian Austin Green or Luke Perry did.

I personally know some otherwise awesome people who definitely go to clubs with the idea of "I am HOT and you will pay to be near my hotness. You will buy me drinks to begin with; that is the price of my company." The men know it and the women know it.

In contrast I was at our (now burned down) local bar, and Jon had gone home. Struck up a lovely conversation with a couple of guys who unexpectedly bought me a drink and didn't even expect more conversation. Then our friend who usually hangs out with Jon long after I've gone home and he bought me a drink because he buys Jon a pitcher and then watched me walk home from his balcony for safety.

I've just seen too many men act like waitresses and hostesses are there for their sexual gratification. Happens less with female bartenders.
