It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ugh, Hil. I'm sorry the job search and dissertation are so trying.

P-C, you've grown! I'm impressed with how you're handling your mother these days. Don't give up.

I've skipped about 9850 posts. It was really hard to do (I'm a completist), but why not take the risk? My apologies that I missed important stuff.

Thank you for the birthday happies, everyone! Between here and FB, I'm definitely feeling the love. It's a good day - we didn't get snow!

Hil, the suckitudinous part of having filled out 125+ job applications, is that even if you get a dozen job offers, you still get over a hundred rejections. There is much Bleh! about that.

Very much yes. And at the wiki rumor site, there are about ten people who are on the short lists for about thirty jobs. I'm kind of betting on being on someone's second short list -- if the wiki is even vaguely accurate, about 2/3 of those jobs won't be able to hire anybody from their initial short list, so I'm hoping I'm in the B piles for at least some of them.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

P-C, I'm astounded that you have yet to turn into a raging alcoholic.

You know, so am I.

P-C, you've grown! I'm impressed with how you're handling your mother these days.

Thanks! I look at what I'm doing now and I mostly just wonder why the fuck I didn't do this years ago.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Because it's hard to do, at first.

Maybe also because Erika gave the push that helped you move towards action?

Thrive to spite them

Happy Birthday Kristin and Maria!!

So I got some bad news about the procedure. The doctor couldn't do it, the two vestigal stump things (and I have two not just one are touching the the ureter tube and there's no way to burn them off.

However, the doctor said that there is reflux into the stumps so they need to be dealt with. So the next step will be surgery because if I don't get this fixed I'll just keep getting infections.

So the doctor is going to call Shands Hospital and talk to them. The plan right now is that I'll go over there for an evaluation/consult and hopefully they'll be able to take care of the problem surgically.

My doctor won't do this because he doesn't feel he has enough experience and it's a big deal.

Also I need to lose weight. He said that it will make things easier for me and he even said that because of my weight it was difficult to see the second stump.

But I've planning on starting a new eating plan. I've been reading Clean Eating magazine and each issue they have a 2 week eating plan with meals and snacks so my plan is to start that and start using my Wii fit and the Biggest Loser Wii game I got for Christmas.

Thrive to spite them

Also the doctor is going to talk to an infections disease expert about options for me with antibiotics and if there are any other options since I'm allergic to furiodanten (I spelled that wrong, used to treat UTIs), penicillin, sulfa, and I had the tendon pain side effects with Levaquin.

I need a medic alert necklace.

OH! And even though the culture came back normal based on what he saw in the cystoscopy he thinks I have an infection so took a culture and sent it out.

Askye, hope the doctors can figure out how to help you.

My parents are coming to visit this weekend. This was supposed to be a distraction from math stress, but it seems like dealing with my parents trying to deal with snow might just be adding new stress.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm glad you are at least finally getting the real scoop on what has been causing all this trouble, askye. Sounds like you have good plans for moving forward.

Happy birthdays Pix and Maria!
