[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hil, the suckitudinous part of having filled out 125+ job applications, is that even if you get a dozen job offers, you still get over a hundred rejections. There is much Bleh! about that.

Very much yes. And at the wiki rumor site, there are about ten people who are on the short lists for about thirty jobs. I'm kind of betting on being on someone's second short list -- if the wiki is even vaguely accurate, about 2/3 of those jobs won't be able to hire anybody from their initial short list, so I'm hoping I'm in the B piles for at least some of them.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

P-C, I'm astounded that you have yet to turn into a raging alcoholic.

You know, so am I.

P-C, you've grown! I'm impressed with how you're handling your mother these days.

Thanks! I look at what I'm doing now and I mostly just wonder why the fuck I didn't do this years ago.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I look at what I'm doing now and I mostly just wonder why the fuck I didn't do this years ago.

Because it's hard to do, at first.

Maybe also because Erika gave the push that helped you move towards action?

Thrive to spite them

Happy Birthday Kristin and Maria!!

So I got some bad news about the procedure. The doctor couldn't do it, the two vestigal stump things (and I have two not just one are touching the the ureter tube and there's no way to burn them off.

However, the doctor said that there is reflux into the stumps so they need to be dealt with. So the next step will be surgery because if I don't get this fixed I'll just keep getting infections.

So the doctor is going to call Shands Hospital and talk to them. The plan right now is that I'll go over there for an evaluation/consult and hopefully they'll be able to take care of the problem surgically.

My doctor won't do this because he doesn't feel he has enough experience and it's a big deal.

Also I need to lose weight. He said that it will make things easier for me and he even said that because of my weight it was difficult to see the second stump.

But I've planning on starting a new eating plan. I've been reading Clean Eating magazine and each issue they have a 2 week eating plan with meals and snacks so my plan is to start that and start using my Wii fit and the Biggest Loser Wii game I got for Christmas.

Thrive to spite them

Also the doctor is going to talk to an infections disease expert about options for me with antibiotics and if there are any other options since I'm allergic to furiodanten (I spelled that wrong, used to treat UTIs), penicillin, sulfa, and I had the tendon pain side effects with Levaquin.

I need a medic alert necklace.

OH! And even though the culture came back normal based on what he saw in the cystoscopy he thinks I have an infection so took a culture and sent it out.

Askye, hope the doctors can figure out how to help you.

My parents are coming to visit this weekend. This was supposed to be a distraction from math stress, but it seems like dealing with my parents trying to deal with snow might just be adding new stress.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm glad you are at least finally getting the real scoop on what has been causing all this trouble, askye. Sounds like you have good plans for moving forward.

Happy birthdays Pix and Maria!

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Happy Birthday PixK and Maria!!

It depends on how many checks you have in the Pro column. If it is all crazy making, then cancel.
None really. She made the first move. There was nothing in her profile that was red flags. So I thought, why not. The more I talk, the more I think, "oh dear dog, she's an idiot". She is a few years older than me, I think 42. She lives next door to her parents. In her grandma's house (I think g'ma is gone). Pays no rent. Mom still cooks for her, and does her laundry. Her son lives with her parents next door. She dropped out of college because it was "too much work", and is bummed that she doesn't have a better paying job. About the only thing good about her is: she likes classic rock music. She left her ex (the few stories she told of him is spooky). It's not like she's a hottie either. So. Ya. gonna cancel. I gotta fix some speakers at work anyhow. So. Perfect excuse.

O_a, run. People can change, but don't count on it; she can get back to you when she does.
Ya, as a person perpetually a third wheel. One thing I learned is, ya can't change folk. And, she doesn't seem worth trying to change.

I'll also share with you my two new mantras for dating:
1) Trust your gut
2) Don't settle
Smonster is wise!
I have reframed my OK Cupid expectations to "meet interesting people I don't want to have sex with."
:: sigh :: ... but... but... I want sex. Miss it. And Match.com had 0 matches for me. :: sigh ::

P-C, at least she didn't call to hound ya. Although the caps were fun. Good for you in standing up.

Smonster, I gotta catch up on FB. Will vote!

ION- v-day work festivities. Ya. I'm dashing around trying to get a show loaded in, and I head to level 8 (admin offices) where the printer is, to get a print out, and someone asked "BC where is your box?" "I don't have one" "why not?" "I'm trying to load in a show". Didn't hear the response, as I was dashing for the elevator. Boss gave me a hard time about it. "Ya had 2 weeks to go to Target and spend $2 on stupid cards". "what makes you think I wanted to go shopping?" Ya, I might be a bit blah about v-day, it being a big glaring reminder that I got nobody to snuggle with.
