Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

And now I have to wash dishes because NO ONE WILL POST to distract me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I could obsess over the one-sided conversation I'm listening to, as husband talks to the HR person.

Apparently they'll make their final decision in about a week. They're talking salary and benefits now.

Dana, that sounds promising!

(Also, I have washed all the dishes, and it is ALLA Y'ALL'S FAULT for not posting. Except Dana.)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

A dilemma: I really should brew myself a pot of my Ick-Fighting tea. But I am running hot & cold, and hot tea would tip that over into Too Warm, OMG. What should I do?

(Be glad none of you are around me right now. I revert to a whiny whiny child when I don't feel well.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Have the tea, Jilli. It's cool enough outside that you can open a window for a few minutes if you feel too hot. Let the tea help.

Oooh, tea...

I so am too. Man, I hate me when I am sick. I am such a pain to be around.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Wow, that lil dude really caused some conversation. First time I took the test, 22. I took it again going for blood, and scored THIRTY FOUR! BooYa!

(I haven't yet figured out how to use the cane while pulling a suitcase without getting totally lopsided)
I push the suitcase. Seems the lugguge I have has enough locking strength that I can push it rather than pull it, and it works fine, except for the big cracks in the sidewalk, and going from floor to carpet. Or, you could hook it on your belt loop on your back (or onto your back pockets) and pull it along.

And, omnis, if you're at a state-run university, I think I know which modules you're slogging through. They really, truly are lethally boring.
I made it through module 2 today before getting distracted with meetings. One more to go before the test!! Woot! Uggg. Then I had a meeting with other production folk, and learned that I *really really* should be using the Oracle calendar, so they know where to find me, and what I'm working on. Fuck me. I don't know what I am working on or where to find me. And the Oracle Calendar bites. iCal and Google Calendars are much better. But, it's nice to know I'm not alone in my feelings for UC purchasing systems.

(No idea why I'm obsessing about waffle irons. For some reason, in the past few days, my brain has decided that pretty much every mention of food will lead to the thought, "I should get a waffle iron.")
You know you want one

I'm sorry/you're welcome? I've been busy monopolizing three other threads.

Jilli, sorry you don't feel well. Feel better soon!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Okay, I've just set the tea to steep.

Man, I hate me when I am sick. I am such a pain to be around.

Pete and I had a long talk where he kept trying to reassure me that if I needed to call him at D&D night FOR ANY REASON that it would be fine, and me sniveling that I didn't want to disturb him just because I was tired and whiny. Yeah, I lost that discussion.

Now I need to decide what distraction movie I'm watching. I think I'm going to go with Sherlock Holmes. Attractive snarky men, Victorian-ish setting, and a vaguely occult plotline. Add some vampires, and it would be the perfect movie for me.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

That's a good sick movie, Jilli. Eat a cookie with your tea, and use a nice cup and saucer.
