[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Hmm, we are planning to drive to New Orleans through Strasburg VA and Chattanooga TN next week- should we rethink our route in light of the flooding?

Obviously, you must reroute through Atlanta. (Did you get an e-mail from me, Nora?)

The really bad flooding was in middle Tennessee, although there was a lot of wet elsewhere. We got the end of that storm and had flooding in the usual suspects. I think the only interstates really affected were around Nashville.

“Not dead yet!”

Speaking of the flooding, it looks like RWA National is definitely not going to be in Nashville-- they were investigating trying the convention center/multiple hotel route, but that's not going to work either since the damage is so widespread and things are in such a massive state of flux.

Which is fine-- I'm happy with wherever they wind up holding it and I'll definitely try to go because I suspect RWA is going to need the support what with all the people whining about how these damned inconsiderate floods are MESSING with their plans.

My favorite "Are you fucking kidding me?" moment: RWA should have had a contingency plan in place with reservations at another hotel/resort, just in case.

The stupid, it burns.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We drove through the Strasburg area on Saturday (day trip into WV), and everything was just fine.

If TN is too badly flooded, you could detour onto I-77 in SW VA, then get onto I-85 at Charlotte, NC. That'll take you through Atlanta.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

People: you might want to opt out of Spokeo, pronto [link]

Woe to the fucking wicked.

From Snopes, the final note says that asking to have things taken off seems to have no effect, and it's entirely possible that part of their business model is getting email addresses from people trying to opt out.

I'd take the chance of spam. My Flickr is private, God dammit, and they're still showing pictures out of it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

They should hold it in Providence, say the weekend of June 26. Bet they could get a deal!

Punishingly Intricate

My Flickr is private, God dammit, and they're still showing pictures out of it.

Just taking a quick look, most of your pics are marked "Anyone can see this photo." We are friends on flickr but I was able to log out and see your pictures.

(And that Louie, boy, was he a fine looking dog.)

Yes, he was.

Yes, but I put my settings so it won't be searchable via search engines.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

it won't be searchable via search engines

If my understanding of these things is accurate, it doesn't make them unsearchable, it just adds some code that asks search engines to not index them, assuming the search engines play nice.
