it doesn't make them unsearchable, it just adds some code that asks search engines to not index them, assuming the search engines play nice.
Yeah, that's how that works.
'Selfless'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

My favorite "Are you fucking kidding me?" moment: RWA should have had a contingency plan in place with reservations at another hotel/resort, just in case.
You can't be too careful. You never know when the Cumberland might crest at its all-time high.
If the search engine isn't playing nice, then I would imagine that a) NOTHING is unsearchable and 2) they probably have no qualms about sending viruses via spam if you legitimize your email address through opting out.

I'm also really not in the mood to change my online behavior due to the local online bully. You have any idea how long it took me to trust social networks, to begin with?
Yes, but I put my settings so it won't be searchable via search engines.
Not all search engines respect robots.txt files - if you want your pictures to be private, you're much better off setting the viewability settings to Friends Only.
I looked myself up and they had about as much information as the phone book. They showed a few pictures that have no relation to me at all.
Mine has me still at my parents house. Apparently I like reading and have no interest in politics.

Which is what I'll do soon, to over 180 pictures. Fuckers.
It's not that I thought info about me was private-private, btw. I just happily settled for mostly-private.

Yeah, me too. Pipl.com was much worse on that front.
[eta: And even Pipl had a lot of wrong info b/c of people with my same name.]

Seriously.
