I'd take the chance of spam. My Flickr is private, God dammit, and they're still showing pictures out of it.
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Speaking of the flooding, it looks like RWA National is definitely not going to be in Nashville-- they were investigating trying the convention center/multiple hotel route, but that's not going to work either since the damage is so widespread and things are in such a massive state of flux.
They should hold it in Providence, say the weekend of June 26. Bet they could get a deal!

Just taking a quick look, most of your pics are marked "Anyone can see this photo." We are friends on flickr but I was able to log out and see your pictures.
(And that Louie, boy, was he a fine looking dog.)

Yes, he was.

Yes, but I put my settings so it won't be searchable via search engines.
it won't be searchable via search engines
If my understanding of these things is accurate, it doesn't make them unsearchable, it just adds some code that asks search engines to not index them, assuming the search engines play nice.

Yeah, that's how that works.
My favorite "Are you fucking kidding me?" moment: RWA should have had a contingency plan in place with reservations at another hotel/resort, just in case.
You can't be too careful. You never know when the Cumberland might crest at its all-time high.
If the search engine isn't playing nice, then I would imagine that a) NOTHING is unsearchable and 2) they probably have no qualms about sending viruses via spam if you legitimize your email address through opting out.
Signed,

You're right.
I'm also really not in the mood to change my online behavior due to the local online bully. You have any idea how long it took me to trust social networks, to begin with?
Yes, but I put my settings so it won't be searchable via search engines.
Not all search engines respect robots.txt files - if you want your pictures to be private, you're much better off setting the viewability settings to Friends Only.
