[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

If you like it, it's not a waste, regardless of what we think. Particularly if you can taste the difference.

I like good vodka, but I generally order my vodka tonics with rail, because the difference is negligible to me, and I can basically get two for the price of one :) When I'm ordering a gimlet, however, it's Grey Goose or nothing.

Due to a combination of me being tired and hurting and the pharmacy not having medications in stock that they were supposed to have, I got nothing done today. Tomorrow, I need to go to the pharmacy to pick up the meds, then go to the office to work on some writing and maybe a few more applications. Then Wednesday, I've got an interview. Thursday, if I need more rest, I can rest. I can do this. Right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Last gimlet I had was Ketel One, but they used Rose's so how good was it gonna be?

Actually, it was fine. I'm just disappointed I haven't had a real juice gimlet in a while. Tradition can kiss mah booteh.

I did buy Rose's when stocking up, because I'm lazy.

I have finished filling out my passport application, and will now print it out and head down to the post office to turn it in. I leave for Italy in ten weeks. Is there any reason to believe that (with the extra $60 for expedited processing) it should not arrive in time?

The status is NOT quo.

Oh Fay, I'm so sorry. There are no words, but I am thinking about you and your family and wish you travel~ma as you deal with this tragedy.

Shir, I'm sorry this continues to be so hard. Doggy~ma.

Sean, is it a renewal? My recent expediated renewal happened in a week, which was crazy. I expected it to take a month at least. I doubt you'll have any problem, though I do recommend sending it overnight and paying to have them overnight it back. Also, WOO HOO Italy! I'm very happy for you. Someday I'll get there, too. One of my dreams.

I'm not going to wade into the alcohol discussion much other than to note that I buy Drew one bottle of really good, really expensive scotch every Christmas, and although I can appreciate that they are more complex than the cheap stuff, I don't like any of them.

Since I prefer my vodka tonics with flavored vodkas (pear, citron, or Pinky), it's a moot point to me. But I AM an enormous absinthe snob; I was at one place that listed absinthe on the drink list, and I confused the poor server by asking which absinthe it was, and then wrinkling my pale little nose at the answer.

Kristin is me! All scotch is vile to me.

I don't think that I've ever tried scotch. So I have no idea whether I like it or not.

I was surprised to discover I liked whisky neat. I'm not sure why I thought I disliked it. And reading the wikipedia entry is confusing the hell out of me at the same time as clarifying my spelling/nomenclature issues. I'm sure I couldn't tell Scotch from whisky at large. Also, Opera doesn't like my spelling of it, but it can bite me. ::adds to dictionary::
