I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Joe's not thrilled with the idea of going back to apartment living, but it's a means to an end. We do it for 2-5 more years and then house! Of our own! That is ours! Eventually, it'll be totally worth it.

My friend A. and her husband are in exactly this same position, Aims. She's been stressing hard about it. Just, you know, so you know you're not alone. There are lots of good things about apartment living, I say as I glare at my still-broken-despite-paying-$$-to-fix-it refrigerator.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It's another absolutely gorgeous day here today! I'm even wearing a skirt for the first time in forever.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Aims, I haven't said, but that's just because the angry stole my articulate, but I'ma just borrow Erin's elegant phrasing about your ulceruncle, and praise your forward motion and determination.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Nothing is ever ideal, but pool? Sidewalk maintenance in winter? No outlay of $$ if the AC breaks in August?

There are pros.

It is also beyootiful here. I need to get out today. If it's nice tomorrow, I'ma wash my car -- I know the car washes will be SLAMMED today.

Oh, it's been the most relaxing weekend in a long time, even with the $ snafu (cause I know there's a workaround there.) I've been sleeping well since Friday, I'm at a good place with my grading, I've been gently social, the weather is good, new books...

Nice. Lovely. Renewing.

Upstairs neighbor just called to apologize. She said her daughter told her what happened yesterday, and she remembers none of it.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh ugh, sj. It's like neverending.

She said her daughter told her what happened yesterday, and she remembers none of it.

One might think this is a sign one needs help.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Wow. Black out drunk or serious mental health problems, sj?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Nothing is ever ideal, but pool? Sidewalk maintenance in winter? No outlay of $$ if the AC breaks in August?

Yep, what Erin said.

Yeah, one would think. Honestly right now I am sitting here feeling very bad for her. Despite how angry and upset I was yesterday, I do understand that she is sick and needs help. She is desperate that we don't call the police or landlord when these things happen, but we don't know exactly how to explain to her that we are not comfortable physically confronting her when she is obviously not in control.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Aims, your uncle is an asshat. I point up thread at all the lovely things folks have said up thread. I guess there is no chance of offering to buy the house from him, as he's wanting to move into it. The condo looks nice. Best of luck, which ever route ya go. Maybe venting with family will snap your uncle into line. Guilt trip for him? "Are you gonna throw little Em out on the street?!?" I dunno. But hopefully you've kept away from the cancer sticks. Good for you for going with out!

ION- last night went and saw ALICE IN WONDERLAND at the midnight showing. Good flick. But then group wanted to go out for pancakes this morning. So set alarm to go for breakfast. In the rain! Ah, the price of being social. BUT! they had a Dutch Baby at the pancake place! And I got it! It was yummy. not quite AIFG, but yummy.
