I mutter "twitheads," and he gives an offended look. I nod at the TV. "Them," I say, waiting for the Local Utah Boy to go off on a birther rant or something. He looks around a little then leans forward: "I know, it's horrible." "Can't you change the channel?" "They always change it back."

I expect there are a number of older people who really believe they'll be force to go to death boards to justify their continued existence. It's shameful what Conservatives and health insurance companies will do to further their agendas.

I'm writing my senators and representative. My two senators are female Democrats. My rep is a man named Doc.

I think the insult is supposed to be more of a tease.

The problem I have with that is, even if it *is* a tease and not an outright nasty insult, that kind of teasing is reserved for people who are close to me -- friends, family, etc. That's a level of intimacy that already exists, that says, You can give me shit because I know you love me.

But if a stranger walked up and said something like that, I'd think, who the fuck are you, and why do you think it's okay to talk to me in a manner that assumes a pre-existing intimate relationship with me, and also fuck right the hell off.
