Ben: I didn't ask for any of this. I just want to be normal. Gronx: I wanted to be an underwear model. We play the hand we're dealt.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

The PUA book/"program" called The Game (essentially, The Rules, but for men) suggests that a great way to pick up a woman is by insulting her.

No, really. Because it will force her to engage with the PUA by way of refuting the insult.

And I wonder, has no one just punched a PUA in the nuts for walking up and insulting a total stranger?

Plus, I know that *I* always want to fuck someone who called me fat (or whatever insult). Cause that's HOT. You just KNOW a guy like that will respect you. And ALWAYS use a condom.

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

Just so you know: amongst my people-with-HIV friends, there's genuine fear that that they will be targeted for "forced euthanasia" in some new Evil Empire State Controlled Healthcare system. I'm trying to calm them down, but it's not that they believe the hype - it's that they can't hear any rational poke-holes-in-stupid-crap speeches above the din of the fearmongers. It's infuriating and terrifying. *I* know this is crap, and I'm outraged that my already-sick friends have to deal with THIS TOO.

It's insane. Absolutely insane.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Allyson, get out of my head!

Holy crap! Really? I'm so frustrated at the sense of entitlement, and that there's now a "forced loneliness" movement that blames feminism for men who live in mommy's basement. You see, if it weren't for feminism, more women would need these creepy guys in order to you know, have a roof over their heads. Because women don't have to completely rely on men for shelter, these men are now FORCED to be lonely. WOE.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, the whole PUA bugs the hell out of me.

I think I'm just searching for the reason. Why don't they understand that women are people?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

suggests that a great way to pick up a woman is by insulting her.

I think the insult is supposed to be more of a tease. I don't actually have a problem with that one, as it is how I picked up my ex-husband. He was demonstrating a toy he designed at the Children's Museum. I went up to him and said "You have to work on your delivery when you talk to the kids. You sound positively malign." I literally saw his eyes light up with interest after that.

That being said, although I think the whole PUA thing a just like the Rules, in that it preaches a weird one-size-fits-all method for bending someone to your will. The whole thing is really skeevey.

A new species of giant carnivorous plant has been discovered in the highlands of the central Philippines.

How long until there's a movie on Skiffy? I say 2 months.

Dunno. Maybe they've never been forced to grow up? Like there are some men who never mature beyond what they were like at age 19?

I chalk it up to inherent selfishness. If they have to treat women like human beings, then they can't just take what they want when they want it. Essentially, they're 3-year-olds with the sexual equipment of adults.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Why are you guys trying to give me a rage attack?!?!?

Here's what kills me the most about the healthcare terror thing: Have none of these people been denied coverage by their private healthcare company? Because a shitload of people are, every day. Because your insurance company is a money-making enterprise. They don't actually care about your care! Christ, I'm going to get all ragey on that, and I haven't even gotten to the PUA thing.
