I did not, of course, eat there. I'd have got food poisoning, no doubt.

Poor dude. I haven't been here that long, but it sounds like this happens to him often (projects he works on getting shoved aside or off completely becasue of other stuff having higher importance).
So much so that his name is used in much the same way that someone would say they got "Jossed"
