Very convincing. Makes me completely want to put myself under government control. Please take me to where you can make me unconscious and naked.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ehrenreich was on The Daily Show last week, for those who want a taste of what she's talking about.

Yeah, that was a great antidote to the wrongheaded keynote speaker I saw last week who started going down the road of people making themselves sick -- which makes me INSANE. She told a story of a woman who stopped doing art, became a successful executive, but got fibroids. Yeah, I'm pretty sure not dancing isn't what causes fibroids.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can't even keep my cool around people who spout that shit anymore.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

From the Everything is Terrible blog: Internet For Kidz!

Very cringe-worthy....

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Professional etiquette question - I'm writing an email to Potential New Overlords with a list of questions/demands about the benefits package.

Now, if this were a job I'd applied for independently, I would obviously be using my personal email account to communicate. But this is a merger/aquisition, so the only way this guy knows me is as Employee Of Current Company. Should I still use my personal email and just sign it "Jess from That Company You're Buying" or should I just go ahead and use my work account?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Jess, when I went through that a couple of years ago, I used work email. They know you're going to have questions because of all the changes.

“Not dead yet!”

I think you should use your professional account, Jess. It has to do with the merger/acquisition and you're asking legit questions about something that has to do with the eventual outcome.

Could you also get them to double my salary so I can afford a nanny? I don't think I'm logistically equipped for 2 kids in 2 separate daycares...
