I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It would! Too bad it's on HBO which a lot of us don't have. Maybe we can do it twice.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Maybe we can do it twice.

Twice as many drinks!

What is even happening?

That sounds right up my alley, EXCEPT that I have never liked any of Joss' sci-fi projects.

I'm hoping Variety's use of "sci-fi" was just because a lot of entertainment writers tend to lump all fantasy into sci-fi, even when it's not.

The series is described as a sci-fi epic about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.

"Unusual abilities" in Victorian women sounds more fantasy than sci-fi (at least I'm telling myself that).

Oh, who am I kidding. I'm going to watch it and drink every time a Joss trope happens.

Oh, your liver!

At least the dresses are likely to be awesome?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm looking at Monica Owusu-Breen's writing credits and I'm amused that she has a Fringe episode titled "Enemy of My Enemy" and a S.H.I.E.L.D. ep titled "Frenemy of my Enemy".

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Huh.

I would hope they're going to do all new stories while keeping the name and the general world. I'd have zero interest in a retread of the original storylines.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'd have zero interest in a retread of the original storylines.

Neither would I, but I don't think that's what they're saying at all. They said "build on the mythology of the original." To me that just means they aren't starting from scratch.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I've seen the word "reboot" in a couple of places, but that may just be people using imprecise language.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

After the announcement of the Buffy reboot, I saw some Twitter hot takes calling Joss a sexual predator.

I'm curious to see how Buffistas see him now. Do you consider him a sexual predator?

Personally I don't see him in that category - just rather typical Hollywood sleeziness with producers sleeping with actresses. And obviously that's an asymmetrical relationship with him having more power, but none of the women involved (as far as I know) suggested harassment or quid pro quo arrangements.

But I'm just wondering what your perspective is at this point.
