I didn't realize I was that attached to the character of Jonathan Kent, but once Kevin Costner started telling Clark to let a school bus full of kids die rather than reveal his powers...yeah.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Everything I've heard about Man of Steel makes me sure I'll hate it. (plus I already hate Zack Snyder). But yes, I too have good friends who love it, for whatever baffling reasons.

Complaints like this, from people whose taste I trust is why I didn't bother with Man of Steel.
History shows again and again how Nature points up the folly of man
I have high hopes for new Godzilla as well!
Also, I miss the red trunks.
I don't actually have a huge problem with the end of the Zod fight, character-wise. The fact that they end up in that situation is stupid, bad writing.

That's pretty much the worst part. From what I've heard, I can think of six or seven different ways they could have earned it. They just didn't.
MoS is on the AV Club's list of worst movies of 2013.
Have any of you seen the others on the list? I have only seen one.
I saw Planes and quite enjoyed it.
I've only seen Man of Steel. I didn't hate it walking out of the theatre (my first impression was merely that it was loud and boring), but the more I thought about it the more things I found to dislike.
