My take on MoS was that it was a Superman movie done with a Miracleman aesthetic.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Girl, the movie gets worse. So bad. But there are people here who liked it so I will pipe down.
I actually really liked the movie overall, but agree completely about Jonathan Kent. I never thought I'd say that the Bo Duke version was better than someone else's...
Any movie that features Henry Cavill shirtless doesn't belong on a 15 worst list.
I saw Planes at a drive-in, with Despicable Me 2 as the second feature. It felt like something my hypothetical 9-year-old might enjoy, but the message part was too obvious for my taste.
On another topic, has anyone else seen Cockneys vs. Zombies? Zombie invasion of London's East End, played for maximum gore and quite a bit of humor. Plus bonus Honor Blackman!
See Attack the Block for something similar?

While I agree in principle, Immortals must be the exception that proves the rule.
Peter Jackson says the HFR is better this time, he SWEARS.
THEN WHY DIDN'T THEY RELEASE THAT VERSION TO THE PRESS OR GUILDS, GODDAMNIT.
Signed,
Loved the HFR the first time around and was really looking forward to it!!
This year, though, the new film was only screened for the press in 24 fps. “Last year people felt compelled, for obvious reasons, to write about the frame rate, as well as about the film itself,” he explained. “So we just said any press screenings this year, do it at 24, so at least people will just focus on the movie itself.”
Well, it didn't work. In the 3D/24p press screening, people complained that it wasn't HFR, and in the 2D/24p guild screening, people complained that it wasn't 3D!
Hobbit. Hobbit hobbit hobbit. Hobbit!
