You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

Hey. New board.

Finally saw Avengers. It was pretty great. I didn't like the 3d conversion, though, and will be avoiding it in 3d for my next viewing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I found most of the darker clothing seemed to be tailing a ghost in the 3D conversion

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I don't get the sleipnir thing though.

I almost peed myself laughing at that! Um, the story is, Loki screwed around with the gods, getting them to bet a guy he couldn't build a thing in a certain amount of time. But he had a really strong fast horse named Svaðilfari, and so he was getting real close to winning, and the gods got mad and told Loki he better fix it so the guy loses, so Loki turned himself into a sexxay mare and distracted Svaðilfari... all night long, and by morning the stallion didn't give a shit about the bet anymore and so the builder lost. Then a few months later Mare!Loki gave birth to the eight-legged colt Sleipnir, who was the fastest and strongest horse there ever was, and he became Odin's steed.

Which, in the context of the Avengers universe, is hilarious.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I don't know why, but this struck me as incredibly funny: [link]

The Sleipnir jokes are great, too.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Clive Owen, Karl Urban, the guy he fought in the kitchen in one scene,

Celeborn!

I did. I got that reference.

hwæt

do I need to watch Iron Man 2?

There are some individual scenes that are good, but they don’t add up to a whole great movie.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We went into the city today, saw a very interesting exhibition on various media. They had a sequence of video clips from maybe two dozen movies, all featuring the Wilhelm scream. Really quite neat. (A whole bunch of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and in the middle of it all, Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story.)

Man, how gorgeous are these Avengers sculpts: [link] ?

(Depicts one of the final scenes of the movie)

I haven't seen one yet that wasn't amazing.
