Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

In the first movie Matt Damon takes out... damn. British actor of great hotness. Memfault.
Unmmmffff. Oh, man, Clive Owen was ridic off-the-chart hot in that movie in what amounted to about 10 minutes of screen time. It's the air of silent, quiet competence (well, not competent enough for Bourne, I guess, but that's what happens when you go against the title character in an action movie). And... I think at some point, he had these black-rimmed glasses on, which made him even hotter. Wasn't his code name "Professor"? I remember thinking "uh, I'd like a whole prequel dedicated to this character, please."
I don't think the movie's so poorly done as to make Bourne into a superspy that's the best ever -- in the second movie, his counterpart kills Franka Potente; in the third he would have been killed if he hadn't used his gained wisdom (the same words used by Clive Owen in the first) to convince the other guy not to shoot.
Also it's interesting that this movie appears to take place at the same time as Bournes 2&3. So they're not saying "here we go again!" They're saying "this program is simultaneously spitting out hard-to-kill renegades." It's a subtle difference, but I think they're reacting to your issue, ita.

Right? And I haven't seen the third one as often as the first two, so here's a perfect excuse.
Bourne into a superspy that's the best ever
Really? I mean, I was starting to accept that until you posted the evidence, and I'm back at creme de la creme superspy.
What I don't remember is a considerable degree of luck or other people tipping the scales his way as much as in the novel, but I'm perfectly willing to concede that I plain don't remember--the Bourne in the books had a collaborative process to winning, but one of the things that irritated me about the films was that pretty much all the knowledge/credit was put on him, as opposed to Marie contributing key expertise with her banking knowledge like the book.
So, I never got that Bourne was the best ever spy. Only that (at least with the first film), his lack of memory was causing him to be unpredictable and this added a level of unpredictability that would-be assasins could not readily plan for.

Okay, it's weird to see people call lettie/cafe de labiell Bumblebee, even if that's what her tumblr title says. And before she got into SPN fandom, she was a prolific Batfamily artist.
I'm beginning to suspect she doesn't exist, because I don't understand how she can have such a crisp and polished style this whole time, and she's apparently she's not past 25 yet.
This: [link] is a pretty sweet boxed set, but the Avengers are not quite the Fellowship for me, so the fact that I have the three solo setup movies in the franchise means that I will just buy the one remaining important one when it hits the stands.
