Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Finished s1 of Leverage. And two things have come of it.

1) am in love lust with Parker (not as much as I am for 'Fred from Angel).

2) I really want those in-ear comm system for my running crew. Dude! Those are the BOMB! Except, of course, no way to Mute the mic. And those of us who have spent time on headset know, that really sucks when allergies hit, chewing ice, well chewing anything, and of course, "natural" breaks. Nobody needs to hear that. Does not deter from wanting. Of course will never afford, so will chalk in same likelihood as item #1.

Must go to sleep now. Can't sleep in until 2pm Tuesday, like I've done all weekend. AND! In the afternoon, I get a phone call with a legend of Sound Design! Woot!

Our wings are not tired.

I've never had cashew or almond fruit, I'm jealous. I want to try them.

Same here. Mmmmm drupes! I'm fairly certain I've never heard that word before.

1) am in love lust with Parker

I'm in love with the whole crew.

Miami! Woot! I went to bed before the end, but could hear the cheers from the boys.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Where did I get the idea that the liquid that surrounds a cashew nut - or cashew "nut" - is poisonous?

I had thought that something in the fruit or outer skin was caustic - I've heard it mostly in the context of it being dangerous/painful for the people doing the harvesting. Huh.

Most almond extracts are made from the nut inside the pit of apricots. Cherry pits also have that same almond flavor.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

When I was a kid I always loved it when a peach pit was a little cracked and you could work it open and see the part inside that looked like an almond.

I still do! No, really.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Aha! That would explain why my "allergic to nuts" neighbor brought over that nummy cashew/miso green bean thing that one time. (I guess it's easier to tell people who are cooking for you "allergic to nuts" than "allergic to nuts except for these things which are nutlike but botanically distinct.")

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have coffee, but I am not waking up.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Most almond extracts are made from the nut inside the pit of apricots. Cherry pits also have that same almond flavor.

Which is why you leave the pits IN when you make clafouti!

I need to investigate this cyanide peach pit thing... its in bitter almonds too so that makes sense. Is it all peaches? (It's not in sweet almonds). What about plums? Apricots? I deffinately want to crack open a cherry pit and roast whatever teensy little almond thing is in there.

And clearly the range of acorns needs investigating as well.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I have coffee, but I am not waking up.

This is not a good thing. I'm actually pretty perky now, but I've been up for 4 hours already. 2 hours ago? NSM.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I am very much enjoying my morning tea after the nasty hotel tea yesterday. Still not quite awake though.
