You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Happy birthday to Erin and Bobby.

Mmm, now I want tortilla. Yum. I just ate a scone, and am drinking my latte, as I sit in the library. Had to get lots of books for upcoming travels, so I figured I'd go get food and catch up on interwebs here, at the same time (my own laptop though). Other things may or may not happen today. Many things SHOULD happen, but...

I, too, have not been as catchy-uppy as I would like to be, lately. I read and think, but do not say.

Yay for Barb being rid of the momma!! :)

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

I like Bear Cub.

And I *love* tortilla. One of the many good things about wandering la Rambla in Barcelona was "Hey, I'm sleepy - let's go to a cafeteria and get cafe con leche y leche and TORTILLA!" and Alfredo would nod vigorously.

Nom.

“Not dead yet!”

I'm still tired and oogie and have yet to sleep, so of course, I decided to cook. I'm improvising. Bread pudding with stale Cuban bread, crystallized ginger and Lindt dark chocolate. Lots of cinnamon and allspice and vanilla to make it all warm and soothing-like.

I think my brain is mentally preparing itself for fall, even though we won't see any semblance of it 'round these parts for... oh three more months. Maybe. But it's at least all rainy and gray outside.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am in charge of making fish tacos tonight. I'm going to make some guacamole because we got an avocado from the farm, pico de gallo with our tomatoes from the back yard, and make a crema thing with lime, mayo, and sour cream. Trying to figure out the best way to prepare the fish- I will almost certainly cook it on the stove top, not the grill, and I don't want to deep fry it. I think this prep of the fish: [link]

Does anyone have any other ideas for prepping fish for delicious tacos?

A mojo would also be good, Nora. Sour orange, lime, lots and lots of garlic, Spanish olive oil, salt, oregano, and cumin.

to marinate the fish in, Barb? Hmm, I don't have sour orange, but I do have everything else.

Our wings are not tired.

We are having Rosalita's TexMex tonight as Bobby's choice. Yum. I would have cooked for him but he cooks so much himself now that going out is more of a treat.

Do you have regular orange juice? You can cut it with lemon-- two parts orange to one part lemon and approximate the sourness.

And yeah, as a marinade. It's seriously yummy stuff.
