Wesley: We were fighting on opposite sides, but it was the same war. Fred: but you hated her…didn't you? Wesley: It's not always about holding hands.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

A mojo would also be good, Nora. Sour orange, lime, lots and lots of garlic, Spanish olive oil, salt, oregano, and cumin.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

to marinate the fish in, Barb? Hmm, I don't have sour orange, but I do have everything else.

Our wings are not tired.

We are having Rosalita's TexMex tonight as Bobby's choice. Yum. I would have cooked for him but he cooks so much himself now that going out is more of a treat.

“Not dead yet!”

Do you have regular orange juice? You can cut it with lemon-- two parts orange to one part lemon and approximate the sourness.

And yeah, as a marinade. It's seriously yummy stuff.

Art Crawl!!!

Happy Birthday, Erin!

Happy Birthday, Bobby!

I am having a very lazy Saturday: watched about 12 hours of Angel that Tivo picked up for me (the Dark Wesley arc) and napped on the sofa.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Went to Macy's this morning to get jeans for our upcoming motorcycle trip to Tennessee. I tested each by crouching in the dressing room to make sure they would be comfortable and the two best pairs had part of the waist elasticized. So I will be wearing mom jeans under my leather chaps.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

ETA: tortilla espanola

Thank you! Guess what we're eating for dinner right now?

I had potatoes, eggs, onions and other stuff and so I had a crack at it. It came out perfectly! I'm surprised. Usually I'd overcook the potatoes or it'd fall apart when I flipped it but it's gorgeous. I added: asparagus (which I pre-steamed), spinach, bell peppers, fresh rosemary and garlic.

We're eating it with some curried mayonaisse. Mmmmmmm.

Apparently you can cut off a chunk and serve it on a baguette as a sandwich too.

Thrive to spite them

I've got my dinner going. I'm making roasted cauliflower and red and yellow bell peppers (since I had to use those) and steak with a mushroom shallot sauce.

Scrappy I think comfort trumps fashion on a long motorcycle trip every time.

And even though the plane tickets haven't been bought I have the time off for when SLNRLBF comes in the fall. He'll be here October 30-November 9. A nice long time. AND he'll be here for FSU's Homecoming game (which is Oct 31) so I'm really excited to take him to a game. Or at least I'm excited now, we'll see how it goes after I see FSU play this season.

I can't believe the first game is coming up already! And I was excited about the Miami game being an 8 pm night game, but it looks like it's going to be on a Monday night. That doesn't seem right. And dampens my enthusiasm to actually go.
