At least at the last non-profit, we got annual raises of 2.5%, or maybe .5%, but at least it was something.
And with the Evil Interim transitioning the new ED, I'm sure I'll look unworthy in New EDs eyes. Not that either of them know what I do or what a day is like. Even if they spent a day being my bitch, they still wouldn't know.
I cleaned my office, this one time, on a rainy day. Next thing I know the interim is giving me suggestions for future rainy days, because I did such a stellar job maximizing the space in the hort office. My rainy days are a precious precious thing, and even then, if it isn't flooding, I'm still out there playing catch-up.
The other bane is that, with the knowledge that we are too few staffed and no matter how many 80 day weeks we work, we will never do everything that needs doing, the hort department doesn't freak over it. Either freak 24/7 and drop dead of a heart attack or heat exhaustion, or stay chill and do what we can, realistically. We try to stay chill. This makes us look lazy, and our jobs unimportant.
