Thanks for all the vibes last night. Perkins spent the night at the emergency vet last night getting IV fluids and anti-nausea meds. It looks like there might be something wrong with his kidneys--one of them is misshaped and his enzymes are slightly elevated, as is his temp. There will be more testing and then we will see.
Poor Perkins the cat! And poor Perkins the person, too -- like you need this?

I have to figure out a plan for my day, since yesterday involved a whole lot of nothing. Turns out the library is closed all weekend for the holiday, and that was going to be my catalyst for getting out of the house.

The new boss is kind of demanding, but I like this part where I sit here on the front porch in the breeze with her in the cradle beside me and the neighbors bring me food. We just scored a carrot cake.

It looks like maybe both of Perkins' kidneys are abnormal, even though his kidney enzymes are only slightly elevated. They are going to try to get a radiologist in to do another ultrasound this afternoon.
I just emailed the pet rescue group to say I think I need to bring Jezzie back to them, at least for a little while.
