Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Because books.

Aw, damn. From the linked article:

During sessions for Springsteen's 1975 breakthrough "Born to Run," Clemons spent 16 hours recording his solo on "Jungleland," the nine-minute track that closes the album.

"Creating is like religion," Clemons said later of the marathon session. "I was willing to relinquish myself to him (Springsteen). I've had people say to me, 'That sax solo saved my life.' So I did my job."

I think I'm going to listen to it right now, and light a candle.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ah, shit. I hadn't realized it was that bad.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I love the Times' transcription of the lyrics to one of his songs:

Come on, let’s merry-go, MERRY-go, merry-go-round.

Boop-boop-boop. [This is Mr. Fischer making a calliope-like noise.]

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Saw one of our new favorite bands last night, Dawes. If you dig smart rock with incredibly heart-lifting melodies, they are the band for you. [link]

They opened for a guy called Brett Dennen. Now, neither of us had heard of him until we bought tix for the she show. None of our friends had either--and we have a lot of music-mad friends. We bought his albums and he is a good songwriter with a quirky voice--he's pretty AOR for me, but definitely talented. They apparently use his songs on a lot of TV shows. The Orpheum was packed and people were NUTS over this guy. There was screaming and dancing and arm-waving. We were in the middle of an alternate universe where this guy was a huge star. We left the concert saying "Who ARE these people and where did they hear of this dude?"

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

My wife loves Brett Dennen. The first time she was playing one of his albums, both of us referred to him as a her. He's fairly androgynous in appearance and his voice registered as a she-voice to both of us. We were surprised to learn that she was a he. All that aside, yeah, I really dislike his music.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

How do you google for the band "!!!"?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, I was wondering that. Perhaps not the best band name....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

How do you google for the band "!!!"?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I found them on wikipedia by searching for "exclamation point"
