Watching "Long Distance Caller". Damn, it has some really intense Sam and Dean interaction. Before this it was "Ghostfacers" thanks to TNT. I kinda liked the boys with their cussin'. Not Deadwood ridiculous but I liked the way they handled it.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I found the cussing in Ghostfacers distracting because if the regular show is rl then they don't ordinarily swear.
I think it was okay for me because the filming was so different. So throwing that in was just a different aspect. And sons raised by an ex marine without a mother figure are probably going to talk like that.
Also, why can't I find sock fetish Dobby? (probably because it's only funny to me)
Hey, I've looked for it too. It's really that funny.
I liked the swearing. I find it realistic that they will, and TV realistic that we don't see it every week, so Ghostfacers worked for me.
SPN moves to Fridays. No midseason crap. And it doesn't move for vampires, it moves for the Nikita remake, which is a weird pairing with VD.
It is weird.
Sigh.
My Fridays at 8 (central) are crowded.
Also - they picked up the show that I thought had Ben Browder in it (Hellcats) but no mention of him in the show's description.
I'd much rather have Fridays than mid season so yay?
I'm one of those people who really did not like Ghostfacers. There were moments where Dean was acting annoyed at the camera in one way or another that worked for me but the rest of the episode was cringe inducing awful.
I think they lost me with the major tone change. I love Ben Edlund's episodes and I love the wacky humor of them. This one just never kicked in for me. I haven't been able to watch the Ghostfacer webisodes either though I have enjoyed their few cameos on the show otherwise.
It was a brave style change and I can see how much fun it was for the people involved in making it. That's enough for me.
ETA: I had no issue with the language.
I agree that Fridays are better than mid-season, but they still suck. So weird.
Ghostfacers totally worked for me because in my head, that's the way the boys talk. But I can see it being weird for some people.
Weirdness: I was watching Time Is On My Side just now, the one with Doc Benton where Sam wants to use his "science" to make Dean immortal and we find out Bela had made a deal, too, and is about to die.
But Bela says Lilith holds her deal, and that she holds all of them. Yet we just learned that Crowley is "king of the crossroads". So ... a promotion? Or Lilith was lying to Bela? Or Lilith was Crowley's minion all along?
Or just a writing flub?
Crowley was Lilith's minion and was promoted when she bought it?
