"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

As soon as I heard Castiel say something along the lines of "the Bible gets more wrong than it gets right," I took it as the writers signalling us that they had given themselves carte blanche to muck around with accepted theology/apocrypha/tradition/etc. if it served the plot.

Good catch! I didn't remember that.

Killing them both is the only way to keep 'em dead.

I laughed out loud when I read this because of course that is the first thing the Winchester boys try is resurrecting each other. Then I looked at the sentence. Wow, I am in love with such a dark show.

Incidentally, I've got my pennies on 5x17 for Bobby Bites It. Anyone else?

Is 17 the next one? I never remember which number we are on. I do think that Bobby is going to die with enough episodes to miss him before the finale. I'm pretty much expecting everyone to drop to the side with the last to die being Sam and Dean.

Next season they'd go back to random mythological creatures? I can't see how that wouldn't be a letdown.

This is me and that is the first time I have EVER felt that way about a show. Always, always, always I would have argued a case for another season. But...what do you do after fighting Lucifer? No, this should be the end, the Winchesters should save the world but most likely die doing so.

But, you know, I'll watch which ever way they decide to go.

There have to be other worlds to save, right?

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Snerk

Also I forgot to say how much I love Plei for writing

I saw it as the only way they could have a funeral without bodies to burn. They're standing there, giving them as close as they can to a hunter's send-off.

That's their ritual. That's how they say goodbye and godspeed to family.

That makes so much more sense and I feel so much better about it. Before I was all WTF, Bobby?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Since the Christian bible never mentions Lucifer as an angel and otherwise includes a few references to generic angels as god's representatives; a mention of Gabriel, found only in Luke, as the angel who brought the news about Jesus's birth; and a cryptic reference in Revelations that includes a war in heaven, Michael and a dragon, it's hard to say there's any angel canon. Lucifer and the war in heaven come mostly from Milton's fevered imagination.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

But...what do you do after fighting Lucifer?

Well, there's going to be a power vacuum in Hell, and if God stays absentee, there'll likely be a similar power struggle in Heaven. Cleaning up the mess could be interesting, especially if they bring Gabriel, Crowley, etc. back in.

Not sure it would work for a whole season, though.

Seriously, the only way you could top Lucifer as a Big Bad is to go full-on balls to the wall and make God the big bad for Season 6.

Yeah, same here. Thanks, Plei, for making that make sense.

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

Using white font just in case. Kripke has been pretty adamant the Lucifer arc will be resolved at the end of Season 5. He's also been vague about whether he will be involved beyond a fifth season. Regardless of Kripke's status as showrunner, the boys are both committed to a sixth season should the show be renewed.

Personally, I hope season 5 is the end, but that's the CW's call. If they do renew, I'm gonna be a Sam-and-Dean fangirl, and I'll park my rear end in front of my TV on Thursday nights and watch 'em.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

make God the big bad for Season 6.

That's what I was thinking about when it still looked like the Colt would work. If they succeeded in taking Lucifer out halfway through the season, what then? But if the last time the Pale Rider was out in the world was the Flood, and the Flood was on God's orders...but then it turned out that math didn't need doing.
