Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
So, what you're saying is it is a VERY GOOD THING I wasn't there.
Good G-d, yes. Between the questions of who is the better kisser between Jensen and Jared, the questions about Destiel and how it's obviously canon, and Misha saying things that egged them on, even my 4th wall issues were tripped.
Dear Lord, now I'm having flashbacks to the Nashville SPN con where people were getting up to the mics to ask cast members Harry Potter questions like what house their characters would be in.
It was heading in that direction, which is part of why I fled.
Also, how does he look in person?
I only saw him on the video screens, but he looked good. Well-rested and smiling.
I don't know why fandom doesn't know how to handle Misha yet. He is not our puppet, and he is not our co-conspirator. I mean, he doesn't have to be, and if we continue acting like crazy people, all he's doing (at best) is coming home and telling his wife more stories during his de-stressing backrub.

I don't even know what's happening. I definitely need to freeze a couple frames.
eta: but none of those people I froze on were anyone I recognised.
and he is not our co-conspirator.
From what I saw at the panel, fandom thinks he is, and he is playing along with it. He agreed with the fan who said that she thought the subtext in canon supported Destiel. He also talked about Jared groping him out of frame in various shots. So my theory is that he's playing fandom chicken with the people asking inappropriate questions, saying whatever outlandish thing pops into his head as a response. I just don't know if the questioners have realized he's playing chicken with fandom.
fandom thinks he is
Yes.
he is playing along with it.
And yes, but...it's not his passion, and it serves him well to encourage this slavish adoration and costs him little. Also, I've no doubt that some of this is very amusing, but then he also gets people stalking him to his home, so maybe he should pull back a bit (Colin has gone from the guy I told should look to Misha for twitter advice to the guy who wants to tell Misha to erect a bigger buffer in front of fandom).
There is no good reason so many people should be a) taking all this shit so seriously and b) assuming he's taking it that seriously too, and I really don't want to be within earshot of what feels like an inevitable shitstorm when he doesn't make the right move someday.
and I really don't want to be within earshot of what feels like an inevitable shitstorm when he doesn't make the right move someday.
No, you don't. He made some offhand comment about Twitter being like a social experiment to him, and all of the Tumblr people rumbled at that. The fan at the mic explained about Cole Sprouse and that Tumblr "social experiment", and Misha said he didn't realize the term was loaded.
All the while I was thinking
"If you people don't understand that his interaction with fans IS a social experiment, your level of denial is breathtaking."

No kidding. He's totally the mad scientist in this scenario and we are in pretty glassware that is probably from IKEA because most tv labs appear to be created this way.

So true. I applaud what he's done with Random Acts -- that's exactly why you want to develop a fan base. The rest of it is him seeing what he can get away with, and he's welcome to do it, but I can't believe fans don't KNOW that's what he's doing.
And it's obvious he's having fun with the social experiment. I know the young lady in the Goblin King costume in this photo: [link]
She was delighted that Misha went along with the nonsense.
I don't even know what's happening. I definitely need to freeze a couple frames.
Wow, me either. I'm not sure I like the idea of an
"unholy trinity"
either, especially since it wasn't exactly that before.
