That would have come with a spoiler warning.

Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Psychotically I want a D/C story where Dean is human and Cas is a dragon, and I've already read at least one of those.
But I want another.
And the arts and crafts verse is being drawn out forever and I'm dying...
Dragons are a rather different thing in SPN-verse than in Tolkein...
I want an AU dragon, definitely.
And I realise, I've read two and they're still not enough.
I realize it's not D/C, or C/D, but Jay Tryfanstone is an exquisite storyteller, always. She's done a wonderful dragon story, An Occurrence of Dragons, which is up to her usual level of characters that breathe, and in this case, breathe fire. J2, but it's AU, so that shouldn't bother anybody.
ETA: She's a Scot, and this reads somewhere between Hogwarts and Merlin.
Cas as a dragon could be all kinds of fun. In fact, replacing angels with dragons entirely and pulling from Chinese mythology on the subject... (plotty part of brain starts spinning).
Another J2 AU (gen) dragon story that is nothing but sheer fun is Dignity of Dragons. I'm a bit biased because I did the art for it - I picked it up as a pinch hit out of sheer pity as the original artist bailed less than a month before posting (even if it was for good reason, that would suck) and ended up falling tail over teakettle for the story.
(Edit: I should not try to code html before the coffee has had a chance to kick in)
I haven't come across a single sort of RPF longer than 2 or 300 words that I can get through. AUs are empty for me, non AUs are too full.
But I will go look at your art when I have a moment, Anne.
Ack! Sneak peek brain asplode!
Also, is Dean wearing Sam's plaid?
Anne, I loved that fic--Loved! And loved your art for it, too.
Dean wears plaid whenever he comes back from beyond this life. At least he did when he came back from hell. Sam's then, I think.
Jumping in to say that I just started s4 - yeah, the whole slow thing was just unpossible. I realize that everyone else is ahead of me, but I just had to jump in and say that it's really frustrating to see how down everyone is on Sam now, including Sam. I don't really like the demon blood as drug thing; I think they're handling it better than with Willow in BtVS, but I still find it frustrating.
However, aside from the addiction issue, I guess I just think that intentions do make a difference. Dean had bad intentions when he tortured people in hell, yet Sam was understanding and caring about it. Sam had good intentions in killing Lilith, and yet Sam is not shown the same understanding. This is even more frustrating because if any of the angels had told the truth, instead of just sending Dean to stop Sam because demon blood=bad, the whole problem could have been avoided. I mean, given the bizarreness of their reality, how the angels seem to be bigger asses than many of the demons, it doesn't seem like a huge stretch to believe that Ruby might have good intentions and that the demon blood might be a necessary evil. Clearly, it didn't work out that way, but it just as well could have.
Anyhoo, I'm sorry to break in on the conversation, but none of my local friends are in this fandom, and I just had to share with someone before I burst.
