Matt, that's the trauma induced dissociative fugue talking.
(FTR, 9 seasons, and oh, what a painful end).
edit: Amy, you're totally right. I thought eight, but nine it is.
'Soul Purpose'
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

It was quite a while before I even realised I hadn't watched through until the end--there was a point at which quitting it was unthinkable, but Jesus. When it got bad it wasn't worth sticking around for the insanity. No matter my previous love. I booked it, and had some convenient amnesia to boot.
Yeah, it got to Scully having Mulder's baby and I just threw up my hands and waited for any decent monster-of-the-week episodes.
Which is pretty much what I did all along, actually, now that I think about it. The mythology got too tangled, with too many loose ends for me early on. If I cherry-picked episodes to buy, they'd all be MotW, I bet.
Here's a vaguely on-topic question: Do you think Sam and/or Dean would have watched X-Files? And if so, what episodes do you think they would have loved, ironically or not?
I bet Dean would have loved The Unnatural.
But of course they would love Bad Blood. Except where I think that Sam embodies both Mulder and Scully.
And Dean can whip out a Kurosawa reference.
I think I stopped watching at the Butt Genie episode, and didn't return until the series finale during the first f2f.
So, I knew the story would be dodgy, because I haven't really liked the author before, and it's one of those back and forth quasi-RP ones--but given that it's one of those, not bad in how they handled it.
But not good.
The premise is an 18 year old Dean seduces a straight 29 year old Cas in a club, and then on Monday they find out that Cas is Dean's art teacher for his senior year at high school. Fine, whatever, May/December drama.
Except--secondary pairing? SAM/GABRIEL. And no, no changes to birth order, or to the canon age gap between Sam and Dean. Gabe is about 32, and Sam is 14, and Gabriel gives Sam a 4 year calendar to cross off every single fucking day until he's legal. Until then, they just have long deep conversations and Sam kisses Gabriel on the cheek spontaneously from time to time.
it's very much a background pairing, but every time I remember it, it grosses me out so much that the rest of the story is spoilt. It's not like it's so good that it's worth it.
But, on the other hand, it is there...and I started it...
I am to blame for my own problems.
Aw, look what Dadalecki tweeted: [link]
I got lost in the blog Misha linked to about proof that he was the antichrist and cookies. I am saddened about the lack of brain function in the ensuing posts on both sides of the increasingly spiraling topic.
So, for Purgatory fic, there's one where Dean has to subsist off of Castiel's blood, and one where he's actually eating Cas. Dudes, Sam was in Hell with his actual body for a century and eating wasn't an issue.
ION, of course any spawn of Gen and Jared would have exotic eyes.

Actually Sam's body made it back almost immediately. Remember it was walking around without him for a year and a half topside.
