Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And, seriously, I could not love Cas more, but Misha wanting to move on because his character isn't doing much new and interesting? With the most adorable child in the world waiting for him at home?

No, it's not a big conspiracy theory where Sera wants to piss in my mouth. Jesus.

Not pacifist Cas, though.

I wonder what state he's in right now--he was definitely more willing to get into the fray towards the end of th ep--does that mean he's back to being a soldier? Maybe a little bit?

And, to defend Dean when Dean can't defend himself--how long would he stick to his not-guns anyway? Part of the reason he was so agitated seemed to be because he thought it was going to come down to him, and the conflict was tearing him up. Was he torn up because he wasn't going to do it (and he felt awful about it) or because he was going to do it (and then feel awful about it)?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Both of those, I'd say, depending on which way the wind was blowing.

Obviously a rewatch within the next few days...then I will know everything.

I do think she made the mistake of some exceedingly tone-deaf interviews that did not engender confidence in her handling of the show and seemed very dismissive of fan concerns about (1) the removal of a popular character and (2) the two-against-the-world season arc resulting in a claustrophobic show.

As it turned out, the use of supporting and guest characters was actually much improved from Season 6 in my opinion, and for once the underlying story about Sam's malfunction and Dean's angst over same didn't make me roll my eyes repeatedly. My main issue with the season in practice was the early promise of truly creepy new antagonists being wasted on fairly pedestrian evil corporation plots and symbolism.

Yes, this. I love this show like chocolate, but I am just not feeling the Leviathans as Big Bad uber villains. Or their slimy gray food additives as a scary thing. Or the worry over turning people into cattle. Won't stop me from watching, but right this very minute I'm already feeling more worry and interest in Sam and Dean's current situation than I have been feeling over the entire Leviathon issue.

Either I didn't see those interviews, or they didn't ping me, since I had no such concern. And when it was announced that it was going to be mostly just the boys, initial fandom response was positive, because it was thought it would hark back to season one.

Then again, I liked having a 21st century opponent--that worked for me, as a change. I thought it was interesting to see an opponent whose gambits weren't primarily a) mystical b) violent. The degree it threw them off kilter and made them more highly dependent on technology (including Frank) I thought was a refreshing change.

I preferred it to the idea of them fighting alphas, or something again. I assume they'll be back to something like that this season.

I hope that the insight displayed about putting the boys together the past two seasons is evinced in S8, and Carver doesn't stretch out Dean and Cas in Purgatory. That will lose them goodwill.

Okay, people ... interesting. There's a hellatus hurt!Dean prompt up, and well, fandom loves to see Dean hurt--I get that. Faith is a favourite of mine too. But just as I get used to the chick who loves lame!Dean specifically, I bump into two fans of puking!Dean: [link]

So--fess up. What's the most specific thing you like seeing any of the characters do? Not including sex, because that's too obviously gratifying.

Right now, all I can think of is functional alcoholic!Dean (as in, not drunk, but drinking heavily). But I'm sure there's something weirdly precise that I love in one of those guys. It just hasn't occurred to me yet.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Being brothers!

Dean loving on the impala! (NOT LIKE THAT)

eta: Dean geeking out about Dr Sexy or other TV

Oh, and of course "cleaning weapons" is just as obvious as sex, so no need to specify.

I do like when Dean geeks out properly, like anime or Lord of the Rings or something, because he's so definite he's not one of them.

Because books.

I love Sam eating healthy. Especially salad. Wow, that looks weird when I write it out. Oh, and lock picking.

I love Dean geeking out, too, but I could use more taking-care-of-Sammy, always.

Anything mundane -- grocery shopping, doing laundry -- love that. And I would give at least a finger for another prank war.
