Because books.

We should do some rewatches of key episodes this summer, on Thursday nights.

Anyone up for it?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Hell yeah.

Just--not the first three weeks of June. I mean, y'all go ahead, but I'll be driving cross-country--ooh, wait. If I can figure out how to watch AND post on the same computer, I could W&P in the motel room at night. On the cross country road trip. With my brother husband, and a Uhaul trailer. At least that first week. I don't know how soon we'll have internetz in the new house.

But I'm definitely up for it.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Sounds good to me. I watched "In the Beginning" last night before bed. Because I could. After a bit of time has passed, and the shock of John with blue eyes has worn off. He really was prefectly cast. He became the John Winchester that we didn't know. The unbroken one. He wasn't gruff at all, he was just a sweet sweet boy. Who still believed in happy endings. I cling to the hope that that line will come into play again before the series is over.

Also...I want the spin-off to be about Mary in high school being a hunter with the same actress from ITB. She was very Buffy esque with her bad ass fighting self, her secrets from everyone close to her, the spunk she showed against her dad, and the absolute bubbly sweetness she had talking to Dean about John. And if we can't have a spin off about her then I will settle for adopting her.

Buffistas, it's become entirely all too clear to me that we need to engage Misha Collins in a group marriage. I don't need to be first or last, but I need to be in on it.

Me too. Did you see his tweet yesterday?

Ok, guys. Gotta run. Obama has asked me to advise the Joint Chiefs on the mid east in a closed-door meeting tonght. I've gotta prep.

With all the places he has been and all the things he has done, there was a second when I thought, "ha ha funny man. He is kidding, right? No, I'm sure he is kidding" He's the only actor I can think of right now that would give me that moment of doubt.

Also...

From the enthusiasm 4 the pony, I'd guess you were a bunch of ranch hands. Great! Ive got hillbilly minions. I knew they're be a catch.

Dude, you just need to go ahead and change your name to Mr. Wonderful.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

He's the only actor I can think of right now that would give me that moment of doubt.

Well, Kal Penn. But, you know, left acting to JOIN the freaking administration. So.

What is even happening?

I just loved her. I'm kind of sad the actress was cast as Mary -- not because she wasn't the perfect young Mary -- she was. Just because I would have loved to have her around more on the show. She was perfection in that role. I will share custody of her, if you like.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Buffistas, it's become entirely all too clear to me that we need to engage Misha Collins in a group marriage. I don't need to be first or last, but I need to be in on it.

Oh, go on then. You've convinced me.

And, yes, I agree that the girl who played Mary was terrific. And she was also, I have to say, really quite reminiscent of Alona Tal.

...on the one hand, I kind of want Jo and/or Ellen back on the show. But on the other hand, I still want them to stay safely far away from the Winchesters.

sighs

So I guess spinoff it is, then.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I wonder what the chances are of Samantha Ferris being asked back to the show for guest shots now that the "We need more hot younger women in short skirts!" approach has been revealed as ineffective?

(I also wonder if the network bigwigs have realized that while pretzel-bending plots to accomodate the inclusion of said hot younger women in shorts skirts didn't help their ratings, more dramatic conflict between the leads and the addition of a hot guy in a long trenchcoat did?)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ferris has said there's been some interest in having her back, but they won't commit to dates far enough out for her to do other work as well. I think it's the same thing with JDM, they can't just call him up when they get a good story idea and have him bop in to film it, and evidently they can't break a story far enough in advance to get him booked. If they can afford him now. He's said publicly he'd like to come back, that there's some John stuff he'd like to see resolved. But he could just be playing nice while his reps keep asking for more money than Kripke and the network have.

Honestly, while I'd love to see him make an appearance and actually have some interaction, I think both the brothers have moved beyond Dad's authority at this point. Dean won't snap to attention any more--he's seen and done and been through too much, he's too old to play the dutiful son. And Sam too. At this juncture, I don't really see the point of having John make an appearance, other than the eye candy factor.

About your wondering, Matt. I don't know. But I'd love to have an ear in one of the meetings where that comes up.
