Ugh. I really miss babies right now. Even toddlers, and they're messier than babies.

Because signing toddlers are extra adorbs. Kat's probably grateful she doesn't have to deal with me trying to get her kids to entertain me.

Oh, I'm sure he signs. So many babies do now, and it's pretty cool. As far as I know, though, the sign for "more" is thumb and fingers together, not two index fingers.

I hate kids. Except when they're adorable. One of my volunteers had a baby and the pics she sent he was throwing gang signs. Long tall gangsta baby.

I am transfixed by this story. Here's the author's notes:

A few small discrepancies —

i – So. This takes place after season five, but without Hell and with the apocalypse ending. Lucifer is not in the cage, neither is Michael, (Chuck probably did something) and Lucifer is wearing Nick (whose soul is in Heaven). Season six and seven are to be ignored entirely. Ellen and Jo are alive. Lisa and Ben’s memories were never wiped. Deal with it.

I can't actually read any more, because they're bowling now. Cas is 4, his grace is fading, he's dying, and they decide to go bowling in a double date. Sam and Luci!Nick are doing the dirty. Cas is the youngest angel ever. He's been watching over Dean since Dean was born, because he was assigned to save him.

eta: I have no idea where the story takes place, but Lisa walks over in the middle of it, and they have a play date together, and she accepts that Dean was in love with Cas the whole time, and that's why they didn't work. The play date extends itself as part of a plan to foil the witches who caused all of this, who end up existing only offscreen, and dying that way too. Then Lisa simply leaves. I'm not finishing it. I don't know if she comes back.

There's nothing here but "Dean is great with kids. Misha would be a cute kid." But nothing Show else. I honestly think there are reasonable points beyond which you can't just change stuff, you have to write it. You have to earn it. You can't just posit it and run on and have a story with resonance.

These are not discrepancies. This is you being pretty damned dissatisfied, or maybe lazy. But discrepancy is not the word you're looking for.

Yeah, they're not writing for me. But they put it where I could find it, and I've got reactions.

Wait, what? Was Dean never in hell? Why is Cas four?

And the apocalypse happened, and Lucifer is walking free wearing Nick, and WHO is on this double date?

Dean goes to hell--Cas was waiting for it to happen, and then it was off to the races.

The "double date" is when Sam, Dean, Lucy (that's what Cas calls his big brother--he thinks Lucifer let him rescue Dean, who was praying at the time Cas showed up, because no doubt torturer Dean was all over the knees to God thing), and Cas go bowling, and Cas is totally adorable in the shoes (Lucifer doesn't understand the shoes) and the ball that's too heavy for him to throw.

Most of the time is Dean coddling Cas and Cas making toddler fists in Dean's t-shirts, and them just loving each other, although their relationship was unconsummated before the offscreen witches de-aged him (and then came after him again offscreen and got killed by Lucifer offscreen).

This is what I think of when I think idfic, because...how? What? Who?

I have no idea what to say to that. Idfic comes close, although that's an id I don't get at all.
