Because books.

The rainbow farting was pretty funny, but my favorite thing was "RIGHT FRIGGING NOW" and the evil eye Dean gave the guy when he was told he had to earn tickets for the rainbow slinky.

Where is Annalee's recap of last night? She's getting later and later with them.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Dan is sucked in by the streaming. He snarfed down 9 eps of season 1 yesterday.

I was working, but I caught one while we were waiting for the Walking Dead. SO YOUNG!!! OMG!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kristin yanked the poll? There were shenanigans? Is this why we can't have nice things?

I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop for a couple of rounds now.

I love thinking about the guys' brilliance. I mean, it's definitely *way* okay that they're major ass-kickers, but I also love the problem-solving and the Shark Week details Dean has lodged in his brain (Whole week of shark...) and the fact that they break a case just like the Criminal Minds guys, or any other brainboxes on TV.

Because books.

I love seeing the two of them discuss what to do like equals and partners.

I'd also love to see them in a trivia/info-off. Dean would lob off stuff about sharks and obscure B-movie stars and combustion engines and Sam would counter with early modernist painters and fairy tales and Sumerian wedding rituals.

Yeah, that's a big rush, seeing them stand shoulder to shoulder and toss facts and ideas back and forth.

And I take a moment here to remember how impressed Ash was with John's data compilation for tracking the YED by environmental sign. They're all pretty bright fuckers.

And Dean might just have the sci fi/fantasy edge, the self-hating geek that he is.

I think Dean can be fannish about sci fi/fantasy in a way Sam usually isn't, even if Sam will happily watch the same movies or read the same books. But I think Dean has always had more of a fantasy life, in terms of using his imagination as self-amusement. Sam was always focused on the real world, i.e. the not!Winchester world, while Dean let himself dream of the Wild West and Elliot Ness, etc.

I wish we knew more about Sam's entertainment. Kripke seemed pretty determined to leave his music as an unanswered question--just "not cool" was supposed to be sufficient.

But we know what kind of books and movies and TV that Dean watches--he has familiarity with Vonnegut, gets choked up by telenovelas, and loves Shark Week and can quote about any movie ever. Sam, whither art thou?

eta: Kristen about taking down the poll: "Still investigating but activity was leading to major sitewide issues. Sorry"

Heh. Fandom battles are their own DDOS. Why not declare all couples (other than Klaine) winners?

Because books.

So what happened with the poll? I'm out of the loopy.

Sam is always doing homework, I think. If there's a case, he's reading up on it, or he's looking for a new one. I think Sam could probably use some lessons in how to relax, actually.
