have you guys seen the picture of Misha from Dragon*Con of him invading a girl's personal space?

beyond him putting his hands on Sam Ferris' awesome rack?
Okay, my parents are rushing me to finish my fic. I must be the only person of age...of age anything whose parents read most of her fanfic.
Must be nice! I'd share my vids with my family, get my brother to beta for me. My dad was proud of the the little trophy I won that had a replica of Serenity mounted on it, but my mom would just shake her head and call me strange. Granted, by the end there I was making Life vids to meditation music.
My son has an apartment (still on campus) this year in Lawrence. He kept his roommate from last year, Sam. It just makes my fangirl heart warm to know this. Neither boys watch the show, however, which just kills me. How can you live in Lawrence, your name be Sam, and this not be your favorite show?!! Kids today.
My sister will be indeed translating a bit of my fic, so heavy lifting of a different sort than betaing. And the research she's already done, plus checking the pulse of parts of the story.
Apparently the whole family sat down and designated her the resource for the fic. So, really, I feel like tearing half of it out again, because I double especially don't want it to suck.
I love that your whole family supports it just because you love it. My family would look at me with their head tilted to the side if I asked them to read fan fiction.
I was explaining that there will be a delay because I had other fandom obligations. My father just couldn't hear the word. So my mother, patiently, explained "It's like a kingdom for fans. My parents would never be in any fandom other than sports (my mother reads a few tennis message boards), but they're uber ultra supportive of my fanart, fanfic (they've been reading (and critiquing) since Buffy), and of course my fandom friends don't even raise an eyebrow. They have their own copy of Vampire People.
They don't know there's porn in it, but they must suspect. Uh, my mother might have seen some of my pictures of chicks "cuddling on each other".
Your parents make me smile.
My mom would probably be totally into fanfic if I introduced it right. Not the slashy parts, though. Wrong generation. My dad would be ... baffled, I'm pretty sure.
But they know I'm *in* fandom. Have known since I was on my first Buffy board (the Bronze: Beta). My mom thinks it's awesome, and my dad loves that I've made good friends but is otherwise ... sort of baffled.
