My mom would probably be totally into fanfic if I introduced it right. Not the slashy parts, though. Wrong generation. My dad would be ... baffled, I'm pretty sure.
But they know I'm *in* fandom. Have known since I was on my first Buffy board (the Bronze: Beta). My mom thinks it's awesome, and my dad loves that I've made good friends but is otherwise ... sort of baffled.

My parents know that I'm in fandom but some of it just doesn't compute for them. Dad is now a Minear fan. He's the most supportive but probably out of hearing it for so many years.
I'm not sure that Mom knows if I am checking a buffy board or a gardening board. She doesn't spend much time on the internet and if I can tell her a spoiler for one of her shows, I'm pretty sure she thinks it's just magic.

My dad is intrigued by the whole idea of fanfic. The idea that there are more stories out there about Jack Aubrey, the Prisoner, etc. made his face light up. I did let him know that he might not to wade into those waters without guidance.
