Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I get frustrated too, Anne. I just skim hoping to find links to articles or pics of Misha.

I prefer direct show talk to fic, since I don't read fic. But, I figure the thread is for all of us, so I just count the days till the show starts again.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm skipping big chunks, because I not really into fic, and some of the discussion is pretty opaque to those of us who haven't read the stories. The show itself is a common experience for everyone.

I skim (and skim, and skim) over all the discussion of Dean/Cas fic, but that's because that is not an interest of mine. So it's not that I don't read fic, it's just that I don't read that particular type of fic. I feel the same way in Boxed Set when I have to scroll past Dr. Who discussion.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Would it be possible to put the word, maybe in caps, you know,

FIC: So, this author, man. She's got the characters...

at the top of fic posts, to make it easier for skimmers and skippers? And for art posts maybe some warning on pairings that people are sensitive to? Like M/M, S/D, D/C or something. I want to look at pretty things as much as anybody, but with warnings I'd know not to click. It would be sort of like spoilers--would that be that a huge imposition?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Just the FIC at the start of fic posts would honestly make it easier for me to skip and skim the fic posts while still feeling like I wasn't missing show talk, personally.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I often forget to tag my BSG posts in the gaming thread but I would try.

Sorry to keep bringing up the ISSUES thing, but this reminds me of some of the stuff that happened in Box set before this thread got mandated, like the insistence that we start putting in jump tags when we were doing W&Ps of past episodes.

Can't we just agree to be more mindful of ongoing discussions on one side and skimming more on the other?

Why can't including "FIC" at the start of a post be seen as a courtesy to fellow board members rather than as an ISSUE?

Because I was speaking for myself, and I have issues with it, based on the history of the thread and the board as a whole.

I thought that's actually what we were discussing. I'm not stamping my feet to ask that fanfic be discussed in the fanfic thread. But when I am asked what would make the Supernatural thread easier / happier / less why bother, I think I should be truthful. Knowing that a post is about fic means I can read, skip or skim without feeling like I might be missing something about the show.

Being mindful would mean what different than the status quo? I mean, status quo can continue but my feelings certainly won't change.
